Anyone order an Apple Leather Wallet on preorder day?!

I got the black leather wallet for my silver iPhone!

Hopefully this holds more than two cards and some folded cash. I don’t really intend to use it all that much on the iPhone
lots of people complaint it will get loose pretty easy

Are you removing from the phone first? The hole on the back is to aid removing of cards.
Yes, I find it very difficult to slide up my cards. Granted my nails are short since I just cut them a few days ago, but it shouldn't be that hard. If it wasn't for my ATM card with the raised numbers, I wouldn't be able to slide it up. Here is a video of me trying to slide up the Apple Card:

I had an opportunity last week to try the MagSafe Wallet on my iPhone 12 Pro Max both naked, with a silicon case, and with a leather case. I REALLY wanted to like the wallet as it was the only Apple case that would replace my old folio case form my iPhone 11 but I opted not to buy it. It just fell off too easily for my preference. I was able to try putting the phone/wallet combo in my pocket under each case combination and in all cases it fell off. If I carried a bag and never put my phone in my pocket the wallet case seemed fine (great quality, felt nice, looked nice). I could see it working if you wanted to leave the wallet in your pocket detached form the phone most of the time and only occasionally stick it to the phone, but it just didn't make sense to me to buy it given I probably take my phone out of my jeans pocket 100x per day and it would fall of every single time. It just seemed like if I bough it I would just be asking to lose my cards eventually. Just my two cents. I encourage everyone to visit an Apple Store and try it for yourself.

I did end up buying the leather case as I really liked the color and have had good luck with the durability of past generations of leather iPhone cases.

I have been using my wallet since launch day and it has been great so far. I usually carry one credit card (for when Apple Pay is t available) plus my ID and a couple 20’s in there. Fits great and never has come off accidentally (I don’t use a case for those wondering). I was even running around the park with my dog the other day with it in my pocket and suddenly realized I had the wallet and was worried it might have fallen off, but it was still there in place. I know the concern over tight pants (no thanks) but I thought running around in sweatpants with it banging against my leg would be just as worrisome, if not more so. Great wallet for those that have the use for it.

...how many cards do you have in the wallet as this is what happens when you over fill it (i.e. 4 cards or more. Its only designed to hold 3)?

Found it pretty tight for 3 cards. 1 driving license and 2 bank cards. I am experiencing same thing as it has to slide out via back-hole by lifting up the card number with finger nail. Sweet slide move is managed to get it only when using 2 cards. His video shows that it still easy to remove compared to mine.

3 plus a $20 bill. I tried it with 2 and it didn’t seem much easier to pull the cards out. Doesnt help that the Apple Card is so thick.

..no wonder its so difficult to pull your cards out then - the Apple Card is not a standard thickness!

If you use 3 standard sized cards, they would all fit in fine.

I even tried with 2 and removed the Apple Card and it's still not easy to slide the cards up, but definitely a little easier. Apple might want to reconsider how thick those cards are :)

Driving license and 2x debit cards in mine and have absolutely no problem sliding them out, my debit cards don't have raised numbers so maybe that helps.

Have had my order processing for ages now with a delivery date of the 10th December.

Just checked and they are ready for pick up tomorrow in my local Apple store. So just cancelled my original order and picking one up tomorrow.

I am not worried about it falling off I am very careful with wallets and money so should be ok.

I did the same thing when i got mine. I have zero issues now on either the silicon or the leather case. I don’t think the wallet falling off is as big of an issue as it was made out to be. It’s a wonderful product and it’s the perfect addition for me. I never carry cash, never more than 3 or 4 cards. So now that i don’t travel, i don’t need a corporate card with me. I love this wallet.

Well I just picked mine up from the Apple store and I LOVE it!

I don’t understand people complaining about it falling off the magnets are very strong, and not being a skinny jean person I am confident it will not come off unless I want it to.

Anyway I am out tonight so will give it a trial run!

I'm a skinny jeans person and mine has never come close to falling off!

Has anyone seen these start to ship early? Was given a 1-9th December date originally and now it just shows 9th December. Ordered on 31st October.

Can anyone tell me who’s got a wallet on order, when have Apple charged your card? Looks like they aren’t shipping until around 10/12 and just wondering if they charge right away, or put a hold on and charge on dispatch etc.
Thinking of ordering through my BLC portal for a discounted rate but don’t want to mess around with holds on cards etc if can be helped.

I ordered both the usb plug and MagSafe charger, the plug shipped and my card was charged about 2 days before the plug arrived. The charger is due to ship in 10 days and I have yet to be charged for that. So I would say you won’t be charged until the item is processed, which will be a couple of days before the delivery date.

Got the poppy. I use a .3mm super thin case and it works through the case, but I would not say the magnetic attraction is very strong. Decisions....Decisions
