My Wallet arrived today. California poppy, it goes well with the black 12 Mini. One issue is that the case that I was using ( https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08DKV6ZZ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) has a slightly raised edges on the back and although the wallet aligns with the magnets in the phone the grip is quite weak due to the edges holding the wallet slightly above the back of the case. I took the case off and the wallet fits very securely. I can slide the wallet off the phone when it is in my pocket, put it back in my pocket and it snaps into place on the back of the phone.
With the wallet on the naked phone it fits well in the hand but the phone feels quite slippy if I try and slide the wallet off while holding the phone in one hand. I think the ideal compromise would be a very thin case with grippy sides.
Cards slide in and out without issue ( I slide the wallet off the phone and push up from the slot in the rear of the wallet.
I'll give it a week, but initial feelings are ambivalent.
Or instead of a case, use bumpers. I'm using RhinoShield bumpers. The bumpers are a little thicker than I would like and also a little too slippery than I like, but less slippery than naked. It seems protecting the sides of the phone and having high enough frame/lips on the bumpers is nearly as protective as a full-on case as demonstrated by their video.

Looks sharp. How do you like the wallet with silicone case combo? Considering a silicone case as leather might be a pita to sanitize.
Im loving it. I haven’t used my leather cases for almost two weeks now. I use anti bac screen wipes. Works like a charm.

I took a look and realised that the bumper would present me with the same issue, that of the edges of the bumper holding the wallet slightly off the back of the phone and weakening the magnetic attraction. ( the 12 Mini that I have fits to the edge of the phone exactly)
It's great with the phone in my trouser pocket, I can slide my hand in and slip the wallet off the phone without any risk of it falling on the floor, it also reattaches really intuitively. The issue is with the slipperyness of the naked phone out of my pocket and the strong magnetic attraction ( again, probably due to the Mini and Wallet fitting exactly edge to edge making the bond stronger ) I find myself inadvertently triggering various button pushes as I grip the phone and try to disengage the wallet.
I'm persevering, only fair to give myself time to see if I adapt.

So many aspects to consider … I see what you mean, bumpers on the Mini wouldn’t leave enough room. With bumpers on my 12 the wallet leaves a narrow strip of space around wallet.

I used to use a sleeve. I knew it would take extra steps (take out of pocket the out of sleeve) in order to use phone, but was willing to put up with that for the pleasure of using a naked phone. But unexpectedly the sleeve is so tight every time I put phone back in sleeve or take it out, it would activate the side buttons.

Which sleeve are you using that was to tight? My saddle brown apple sleeve comes in on Monday.

Just a quick response, I’ve got a couple of cases coming as Christmas presents, one of them has a flat back so that might work. Meanwhile I’m going to take a craft knife to the corresponding raised parts on the rear edge of my existing case

Joli. It’s lined with felt for impact protection for about $80. The stitching is secure but not perfect, probably because Joli is having someone else helping her push out the sleeves. Otherwise a quality sleeve at a relatively reasonable price.

$80 isn’t a bad price. And I do like those sleeves. Depending on how well I adapt to the apple sleeve I may end up ordering one.

Just got mine. Black wallet, black leather case for the 12. No worries at all about how well it holds and super impressed with the quality and functionality. Love it!

Does the black of the wallet exactly match the color of the leather case?

I don't have the Apple wallet, but how many of you use it detached from your phone as a minimalist front pants pocket card wallet?

Haven’t tried others, I like the fact if I have one pocket free, both wallet and phone go together. It’s a nifty little thing
