Could be. I looked at 3 or 4 saddle brown wallets before going with the one I have because I preferred the feeling of the grain vs. smoothness and they arent sealed so ...
I also don't think any exhibited this issue
I usually get most products that Apple brings out but I’ve not really been that interested in the Wallet. I like the look and idea of it but am I correct in thinking you can only store 2 cards in it? And no cash?
Also, with the use of Apple Pay with your phone or watch, it makes me think, what’s the point in the Apple Leather Wallet? Any thoughts?

Three cards at most.
It's useful to have cards with you if you might spend more than the contactless will allow (or think you'll need your ID for something).
I bought from apple online store anyways I will also send back the leather case and the phone too ☹️
Wow the phone too. I get it can be frustrating when a company releases ‘cutting room-floor’ products.
I’ve completely changed my mind. I love it! Ordered one off Amazon and just got it today. I love the quality of it and did not realise it has some weight to it. Count me in!
I have Baltic blue and saddle brown and they’re both like that. Doesn’t bother me.
Must be a little biased but I think this is the best combo:
Graphite iPhone 12Pro + Blue silicon case + California poppy wallet.

That’s a combo I have but I also have the cal pop leather case and the Baltic blue wallet and they go together nicely

I was bouncing about that as well.
But I must be one of the persons that prefer the silicone cases. They wear more, sure, but the grip and the contrast of materials makes it worth for me. I think I don't like leather on leather look. It's like having all the car interior in leather, with no inset in other material like wood or carbon fiber.
I Like the different material feels, So I would go with silicone case + leather wallet. But it's definitely up to your taste and feel.
The clear case is awful, had a friend with one and it scratched and shattered on the bottom edge. Haven't tried one personally but reddit is full of complaints as well.
I used apple silicone cases in the past but suprisingly the leather has more grip than silicone for my 12 pro max
The leather case also sticks to the wallet much stronger than the silicone!
I have no issues with it sticking it to the silicone though, and I use slim-fit/ skinny jeans. Was one of my concerns because of some YouTube videos but its rock-solid.
