That’s a different gesture, a side movement on the “home button”, not the circular gesture we saw in the video. I’m quite sure this hasn’t appeared anywhere else and that this wasn’t in the keynote UI. Same function, yes, but executed different.
The guy in the twitter video posted it on Reddit. He acknowledged that the rounded motion felt better to him, but he was getting the same effect as the straight horizontal movement.

I agree, with one little small change - His videos are total crap. Quantity over quality type of channel.

If he says, "thee" instead of "the" one more time I am going to puke. I avoid his reviews because they are so annoying.

I don't care if it has the same effect - I want the circular motion which looks cooler, more fluid and evokes the feel of the click wheel. I would like that to be in the the shipped final build of iOS, still holding up my hopes.

For the 10th anniversary iPhone, the public perception really isn't great - regardless of sales. As an apple fan who has had around 7 different iPhone's. I was so disappointed with the X. This should have been the phone that changed all phones. Its moved forward, but no more than any other year.. not the leap i really wanted. Plus the price point is a step to far for many.

If it worked for him, why wouldn’t it work for you? You see he’s doing it.

That's not my point. I like the circular gesture better because I think it's cooler and it reminds me of the click wheel. Both work similar, but to me one looks better than the other. Though from the unboxing video from the verge, it appears that both inputs work, which I would like.

Yes. Since 1996. ;)

Not plowing every dime I had into Apple as soon as Jobs returned was easily the biggest investment mistake I ever made.

Not getting out of the market in 2000 was the second one. I could be a gentleman rancher by now, instead of slinging code for someone else.

Hahahahaha. Sales are the data that say you're wrong, so you just hand-wave them away.

If you were anywhere near close to correct, they wouldn't have sold out by 2017/10/27 0015 PDT.

You would think EverythingApplePro would be there
Not really.
Yes he named the channel after Apple and reviews their products (along with android) but at the end of the day, he's a known Apple hater and I'm sure Apple knows that which is why he was left out.

I hear you. I have a good friend in Austin who works for Synopsys. I hear the "Slinging Code" comment quite a bit these days.

No, what i am saying is that many people are disappointed by the lack of innovation for the anniversary iPhone. sales are likely to be as good as ever - but if the iPhone had been better then they would have been outstanding.

What kind of innovation were you looking for?
A price cut?

To make him lunch and dinner most likely

Sadly it’s a phone and what you can do is always hard to improve

Oled screen
Wireless charging
Smaller body
Less bezels
Improved camera
Faster

Sounds like a great upgrade to me
