Apple NEEDS to KEEP Touch ID!!!
Our state law DOES NOT allow touching a phone in a car, let alone picking one up to fully divert one’s eyes away to make eye contact w/a phone waiting for you to "look" at it, and more States WILL follow!

Touch ID works FANTASTIC already! I get in my Accord Hybrid Touring & iPhone goes in the tray. I DO NOT have to glance at it, I just press Touch ID & Siri comes on via BlueTooth & everything works GREAT w/my voice. We’ve been blessed with 4 “Newer” Hondas, all 2015 or newer, ONLY 1 has Apple CarPlay (so it's not like we have old cars either). I can even say "Hey Siri" but sometimes the code/Touch ID is necessary. So, if Face ID becomes the only option, it’s a Min. $300 ticket! Plus, I want my wife & daughters Touch IDs so they can open my iPhone. So if anything, have BOTH Touch ID under the glass for in a car, and Face ID for buying lunch. ;-)

Desperation.

Phone isn't selling as expected.

People are nervous at HQ.

Except it’s selling at a record pace and the Apple stock hit an all time high today... but I’m sure you know better than the market makers, analysts and funds who do this for a living and have billions of dollars at stake

I found these videos very staged but I care **** about youtubers so I can't tell whether these are popular or not, but I don't care. But I doubt this is some new marketing initiative responding to pre-order numbers. This was probably a long-planned part of the marketing campaign and these videos were most probably produced before pre-orders.

These are some of the first infos to become public before the devices arrive at the customers hands, with proper reviews by big magazines probably coming in soon, maybe on delivery day. It's one of many measures to build up hype and get first infos out.

tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if some "scandals" like the lost iPhone 4 at the bar, this "leak" and others were intentional and no consequences occurred to people involved since it just was a marketing story to build up hype.

But that doesn't really tell about the preorder numbers in the past few days.

On a side note, in Germany the official Apple site quotes shipping times of 5-6 weeks but on every carrier website, you can order the iPhone X with delivery stated 03.11. Still a discrepancy in shipping times so I'll just have to see how long mine takes.

I just hope it has this leaked app switch click wheel gesture:

Looks like a selected group of vloggers who have some warm connections at Apple. Doesn't feel real. I'm not buying all this until Unboxtherapy makes a review.

Interesting that they went with these more unknown YouTubers instead of the bigger ones like MKBHD or iJustine etc

This!!!

Thought this too at first. Apple knows how many people are searching YouTube for the iPhone X and it’s possible the more well known YouTube people wanted something in return. Money, sponsorship, we’re just too busy with other obligations, or who knows what else whereas the lesser known people may have just been happy with having the first review of the X. Aside from time to work it all out, it’s free advertising then.

And you are taking who's word for it? Ah, the company itself. Got it. And stock price is proportional to sales, potential sales, future sales???

This must be the most random bunch of YouTubers ever. I mean there are so many better ones to pick from. MKBHD, Unbox Therapy, UrAvgConsumer, Jonathan Morrison etc. High Snobiety ain’t even a tech YouTube channel, just some watered down news publication.
Boored At Work has always been a solid, no-nonsense reviewer (especially with laptops). As for the others, yes, I would classify them as a random bunch, but at my age, they could very well be YouTube rock stars, and I would have no clue.

"Animoj what I am more excited about to be true", that was just funny, everything the iPhone X has, he is excited about making animated emojis.
I have zero interest in Animoji (I never use emoji), but I'd be willing to bet that that's the feature that will sell more iPhones Xs than anything else.

Sigh, kids these days.

So I just heard on the news, Apple did indeed double down on security and fired the engineer who's daughter posted virtually NOTHING new about the iPhone X. Ruined Dad's life for fricking nothing, love you Apple.

Basically everyone who saw the video said „Someone is going to be fired“, so if he as an Apple employee wasn‘t aware of that, he must be pretty stupid.
Also, I think there might actually be a chance that he‘s going to get another job at some point.

Nope not the company itself, the countless analysts and market makers on Wall Street, who know well before the public does... there’s too much at stake for a stock price to move just based on hype or claims from the company itself. It was all over CNBC and msnbc today. Look it up

Oh cool! Videos of YouTubers I've never heard of. Should have gone with Linus Tech Tips, or Jayz 2 Cents, Austin Evens, Marques Brownlee.. ya know, tech YouTubers that people have heard of. They would have given way more impressions.

Those tubers would have given a 'proper' view, a review that includes positives and negatives. Apple only want positives so they are only going to give the iphoneX to youtubers who will agree to only be positive. If reviewers start to give negative reviews, pre-order customers might want to cancel their orders. Apple wont allow this.

I’m sure MKBHD and other more high profile “Tech Youtubers” already have review units in hand but are embargoed.
My impression from twitter and other sources, it seems that sites like the Verge and and others were caught by surprise with these hands on they gave these guys — which kind of steals their thunder.

And yet they termed the engineer who's daughter had the x in a vlog

wow. look everyone. this guy has exclusive insider information.

give me a break. FAKE NEWS

UrAvgConsumer's video is definitely my favorite I have seen so far. I like how he speaks.

New design - Subjective. Apple will use the same template and improve it year after year. Compare your high school freshman photo in black and white vs your senior photo? Most like how they look their senior year in color. This is just Gen 1.

Face ID - Looks fluid but still...

Animoji - Not interested. This is for Snapchat-lovin' preteens.

OLED - Samsung give out their best batch? I had OLED since 2010's Nexus One. Microsoft Zune HD from 2009 had OLED.

Gesture control - One of the best features could easily be added via software update for older iPhones. This is software-based. If added by 11.3, I will update my SE to it ASAP.

#1 question on most people's minds will be IS IT WORTH IT? IS IT WORTH SPENDING $1100-$1300 for it?

I actually believe it will NOT sell as well as Apple expects it would. At least not early on with that price. Pre-order was easy. It's shipping early. There is alot in stock. I bet if I arrive at an Apple Store this Fri by 6am two hours before it opens, I will get one.

This gives iPhone 8 / 8 Plus a second life because now all the products are available and consumers can now choose. People can now figure out if they want to save $200-$300 or not.

Again, is it worth it? Yes or no is the only answer consumers will look for. Maybe if you came from a 6 or 6/6s. But I'm saying is any smartphone that gets replaced within a year worth $1100-$1300? I don't think so.

Time will tell... Everyone is intoxicated because it's new and we are prisoners of the moment. This three seconds is the greatest ever! No, this three seconds is the greatest ever! Come down from the honeymoon phase high.

Say you have a really important call, text or email to send and you can't unlock via Face ID. While it may only happen intermittently and you could enter a passcode, I wouldn't tolerate such a frustrating user experience at such an inopportune time.

Ur average consumer had the best video here.

Soilder swiped to open faster than face id unlocked a couple times. I didn’t expect that to happen but I’ll try it for myself on Friday. :)
