The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 both get it. The 11 doesn't likely due to its lower resolution display.Anyone notice how it’s the cheapest phones of each generation that aren’t getting itThis is apples way of punishing you
Jokes aside I guess the minis aren’t getting it due to the screen side and the XR and 11 due to the lcd screen
It's probably one of the smartest moves if you can turn it into a "new" feature only available on the latest iPhones, or at the very least, exclusive to a range of newer, more expensive iPhones while omitting it from newer iPhones that are less expensive, are smaller, have less expensive displays, etc.Having the battery percentage exclusive to select iPhones is one of the dumbest things Apple has ever done.
Sometimes I believe Apple thinks with their butt first then their head.
I'm sure it'll come down to something as trivial as Apple wanting this new percentage bar + percentage number combo to have a certain fixed size across all devices. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 both get it. The 11 doesn't likely due to its lower resolution display.
I always do what Apple wants...time to buy that iPhone 13 Pro Max to tide me over until the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes out.I'm sure it'll come down to something as trivial as Apple wanting this new percentage bar + percentage number combo to have a certain fixed size across all devices.
But giving it the same size on iPhones like iPhone 11 would make it illegible unless Apple makes the combo slightly bigger for iPhone 11 and similar iPhones, like the Xr.
But you can always get yourself a new iPhone 14 and solve all your issues at once, just like Apple wants you to.
You would think that but Apple has other thoughts on the matter.I have an XR and this is disappointing to me. If they can display "4G" in a tiny font next to the battery icon they can display battery percentage.
And whose fault is that the iPhone 11 has a lower resolution display? The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 both get it. The 11 doesn't likely due to its lower resolution display.
iPhone SE has a LCD screen and it shows the battery percentage...so why can't the iPhone 11?!?! 🤦♂️Anyone notice how it’s the cheapest phones of each generation that aren’t getting itThis is apples way of punishing you
Jokes aside I guess the minis aren’t getting it due to the screen side and the XR and 11 due to the lcd screen
What about the iPhone SE??? It shows the battery percentage.Seems maybe it’s related to resolution. The number has to fit inside the battery symbol and thus be super tiny. Maybe Apple looked at it on the 720p-ish iPhone 11 and thought it looked too jaggy.
Lol! So true!Typical Apple move, remove something and to bring it back as "amazing" new feature
Our bad! iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are supported and have been added to the list. 😊How strange that the iPhone 12 seems to get it but not the iPhone 11. I assumed it was "OLED" exclusive (except Mini). Also did MR forget the "11 Pro / Max" in that list?
Or maybe Apple is just lazy.SE2 user here.
My phone has always shown the battery %age on the lock screen, right from day 1 when I turned it on in preferences. And my 6S before it. And my 5S before that. And my 4S before that.
I had absolutely no idea this was a 'thing'.
Yes i'm running the latetst iOS.
Why is this feature implemented so differently across the range?
Notch issue, maybe?
I do get that Apple has certain aesthetic and technical principles that have to be followed for iPhones to appear consistent overall, regardless of what model you get.I believe jailbreak community made it possible and beautifully so back in iPhone X era, probably implemented in the same way. Now we get it, and apple says “no, these devices, just no”. Like why? Those percentage numbers are small anyways.
Possibly, but it seems to me it's harder customizing basic things like this depending on the device, than having a one-fits-all solution across all devices.Or maybe Apple is just lazy.
It does not show the % inside the battery icon but at the side of it, and can thus use a bigger font. What about the iPhone SE??? It shows the battery percentage.
iPhone SE doesn’t have notch, so unaffected. What about the iPhone SE??? It shows the battery percentage.
It does, and the XR too. It was the first iPhone with a 6.1" display, same screen estate than the 11, 13 and 12.Pretty sure my 11 Pro Max has more space than the X?
