To summarize: You hope Apple won't market their products in a way that makes people feel their current devices are outdated. Doesn't seem very likely.
Until they created their own chip that was basically the case though lol. I know it doesn’t seem likely at all. You can easily look at past macs for years and see the i3, i5 etc so it’s not like it’s unfathomable to want to see them do something similar with their own line.

They could use the names m1, m3, and m5 for all I care, I just don’t really want to see m10 processors in ten years lol.

I don’t expect them to do this though, because they’ve skipped iPhone numbers to sound better to consumers.

Awfully specific for this hypothesis. By that logic, why didn't they also add "apple-car", "ar-glasses" and "kitchen-sink"?
Because no one was searching for them in regards to WWDC… that’s like saying why doesn’t McDonalds add Gasoline to their YouTube marketing video tags.

It’s happened before, products not ready for release in Tags and also tags that have nothing to do with the event for time flies they had:

Plenty of Mac tags and WWDC tags none of which was anything to do with the event.

I do strongly believe that apple watches the Rumors, and delays products and releases of certain things based on the rumors as an attempt to mess with the credibility of it.

Like really when you're that big, and have that much power/sway, delay a launch by a month. No big deal

Best guess: supply chain shortage. Something, whether display panels, chips, memory, etc. was so constrained that they pulled the M1X systems at the last minute and spread the rest of the content across the allotted time - which accounts for some of the overlong “talky” segments. Just wait until WWDC 2022 - we’re going to see M2X systems, a GOOD iPadOS, and widgets, widgets, widgets!

There was no set time limit on the event. They could have made it 30 minutes if they wanted to. Everything they talked about was 100% intentional.

9to5 Mac also did an article on this. Does no one know how SEO works? This verifies nothing except that their SEO specialist knows how to keep their job.

Exactly. No one would risk letting the cat out of the bag at Apple if they want to keep their job with the company. This company does controlled leaks, rarely accidental. This does not seem to be accidental.

This is off subject but I really hope Apple doesn’t name all of their processors the same way they do with iPhones, m1, m2, m3 etc. I’m sure a lot of people won’t care but at least with Intel they stuck with i5, i7, i9 etc for years even though they were updated and had other names.

It’s not a big deal but I feel like people will begin to assume their MacBooks are “too old” once m2, m3 etc come out and in a sense always feel out of date, where it wasn’t exactly so obvious with intel, maybe it’s just me though.
I've had an m3 MacBook for 4 years now. 🤷‍♀️

Maybe that’s the point. Not that most people even know what chip is in their phones or computers to begin with.
i think it’s more confusing the way intel does it. Seems simple to keep it the same way as phone chips.

My theory is that Apple decides to put out M1X announcements from the keynote just to mess up with Prosser.
