I say clothes are too tacky. You can sell them but I would never buy them.

Keychains, Mousepad, swiss army knives (the ones with the memory key built in), pens, pencils, etc are fine though. Stuff like that I would buy.

Cool

I live in Italy and I'm british. Last year in my first visit to the states I was in San Francisco and my wife and I visited the apple store as we had done in New York. I asked if they had any merchandise and they told me that I had to go to Cupertino. It was ONLY THEN that I realised how close I was to the Mothership. Unfortunately by then we didn't have the time to go... so basically I'm saying that I think its great selling merchandise. Looking forward to picking up a cool Apple t-shirt next time I'm in London. BTW: USA is a wonderful place!

I went into the London store the other day and didn't buy anything. Clearly this is being addressed.

Great idea, sell a little Apple awareness at the stores. The stores are already in trendy areas in the mall, if the products are cool people will buy them whether there mac users or not. I work for a Mack truck dealership, Mack trucks mascot is the bulldog, what's the most requested item? Mack hat with bulldog! People that have no idea what a Mack truck is stop in to buy that hat. Crazy

I like the T-shirts given away at Store openings or at least the one that was given at the Ginza store in Tokyo.

Black with a white Apple logo with "Ginza" in small letters beneath it.

I'm torn on this one. I think that Apple merchandise could be very tacky and silly, yet there's something about it that's cool! I guess I'll have to wait and see what's actually offered and at what price before I make up my mind.

I want one of those!

well so what if its a mouse-pad... its free..

I want one! Do you think my Comp USA will have one? I'll have to start going there regularly if I can get stuff like this and for free too.

Fantastic. Now my local iPod Store will carry t-sirts so "trendy" "hipsters" can be "cool". If Apple does make t-shirts, I want them to be nerdy as hell, and Mac oriented...

That's my concern as well. Will there be an "Apple premium" built into these items? ;)

Steve: "What do these plastic keychains normally go for?"
Mindless marketing drone: "Usual MSRP is $7, so they can sell at $5."
Steve: "Perfect. $12.99 it is, then. BWUHAHAHA!"

I'd buy one t-shirt! And I'm praying they'll have a mousepad. I've been wanting to buy one for a while. Almost went and bought one online, overpriced and all.

Woohoo im happy about this. Towards the end of the year at school people were making apple shirts becuase they thought apple was so cool. So it looks like those people in our school/me will be happy.

Hopefully they'll have interesting, unique stuff, not just typical boring logo merchandise. I'd love a new Moof t-shirt - mine is nearly faded to oblivion. Shirts with the store's location (like those they give away at openings) could do really well, but should be differentiated somehow from the freebies. They should also rotate stock frequently, and vary them between stores.

Not too related, but I really miss the days when Apple didn't care about trademarks (or didn't care who they licensed them too). I remember how many weird Apple- and Mac-related t-shirts I'd see sold by little no-name vendors outside MacWorld in Boston. Good stuff. Gone are those days.

i went to the apple campus maybe six years ago when i was in high school and was severely dissapointed: no tours, just the store...and the store was not nearly as nice as the apple retail stores, they didn't even have a lot of models in stock...they did have all the clothes etc of which i bought none...has the apple campus store been updated?

i know that think different posters would sell well at the retail stores, i've had a few friends asking after them

seems like every week there is something new next to the big Powermac..... no one seems to grab them so i always grab a "few" ;)

So you're the one who keeps taking our display merchandise. Damn you.

Just kidding. :D

Tasteful, please. No Apple shotglasses, fuzzy dice or fingernail clippers.

Id love a apple shotglass. I have an apple bycicle. I just re-painted it, with cool apple logo.
