Apple Watch

Sweet Jesus! I've been waiting for this news for a long time.

Maybe now a can finally replace my Apple watch. For those of you that don't know, about 8 years ago they used to sell 'Think Different' watches with hands that rotated counter-clockwise. Needless to say, that turned a few heads.

No, now is "i-Shirt".... :D

Nope, iWear....

That's the whole *product*. iWear is the clothing *suite* comprising of the iShirt, the iHat, the iSocks (larger version of the iPod socks), the iShoes, etc.

I do see a problem if they affix their sub brand "mini" to anything related to male underwear though... :0

I live in Italy and I'm british. Last year in my first visit to the states I was in San Francisco and my wife and I visited the apple store as we had done in New York. I asked if they had any merchandise and they told me that I had to go to Cupertino. It was ONLY THEN that I realised how close I was to the Mothership. Unfortunately by then we didn't have the time to go... so basically I'm saying that I think its great selling merchandise. Looking forward to picking up a cool Apple t-shirt next time I'm in London. BTW: USA is a wonderful place!

Rock on, *cousin*-from-afar. The U.K., ahem, the Motherland, is a wonderful place too. Even has "Doctor Who" again... :)

Speaking of, if you ever find yourself up in Portland, Oregon, there is a pizza parlor called *Pizza Schmizza* that not only has excellent pizza, but it has a Dalek sitting atop the freezer they keep their beverages in...

What?!

What has this world come to?

Sorry, but I don't see the need for people walking around town with an Apple logo on there shirt, or an Apple T-Shirt.

I don't know, it just seems weird to me. I don't want Apple to take over the world... It could get bigger but I think if we let it get to big we might be sorry later, IE Microsoft. And selling T-Shirts and Hat's with the Apple logo on it won't mean that it is taking over the world, but hell it's a start to me.

I think that this is great - it's an "early warning system"

I think that this is great - it's an "early warning system" for "the rest of us".

When you see a geek waddling down the sidewalk with his XXXL Apple T-shirt, you'll know instantly that it's someone to avoid!

(Seriously, though, wearing free logo-ware is sometimes acceptable, but often tacky (I have a cool nVidia t-shirt from one of their devo conferences, though. The rest of my "logo-ware" is for gardening or working on the Testarossa.).

Actually paying someone in order to wear their logo is over the top. Why does anyone buy a t-shirt with "DKNY" in giant letters? Why would anyone pay money for logo-ware from any company?)

I got Apple T-Shirts when dad bought his Quicksilver. The entire family that was there got them. They are great shirts... still have it and wear it! :D

LAME!!!

This is really silly. I might buy a keychain, pocketknife, etc. but I wouldn't be caught dead in an Apple shirt and wouldn't want valuable space at a store wasted by logo merchandise.

...for the logo. To belong.

But it seems like a tenet of the Mac Community is to "Think Different" - why would anyone want to participate in a mentality which encourages "going along with the masses"? Everyone wears Nike, Tommy, you name it because it's "popular" and they want to, as you say, "belong". I guess that's why I never wear clothes like that - I don't just blindly go along with whatever is "cool" or "popular", I do my own thing. Ultimately, that's one of the reasons why I use Macs. I can see wearing something if you're a huge supporter of it, but if it's marketed in this "pop" fashion, count me out. So I definitely agree with AidenShaw on this one.

Seems pretty hard to "Think Different" when you see iPods everywhere on the street. Seems pretty hard to "Think Different" when the Apple Store is considered the cool place to hang out after school. I'm sorry, but we're just not unique anymore.

Fair enough. Ah well, maybe it's a good thing... ;)

definitiy want a few shirts, a mouse pad even though i don't need it and posters to decorate my dorm room...maybe a keychain...

edit - i like the plug on the site
Apple may have 25,000 storefronts selling iPods, but Hewlett-Packard isn't one of them anymore. The company confirmed to MacRumors today that it has ended the special agreement with Apple to sell H-P branded iPods.

I'd like to get a shirt and mabey a hat. I just hope it dosn't replace the already shrinking amount of software/hardware accessories division.

I gotta tell you...I was ecstatic when I read this. Not sure why, but I am so happy about being able to buy Apple junk. But...I don't know how some of you could be so whiny about Apple focusing on t-shirts instead of computers? Do you REALLY think that's an actual concern? Wow.

I will be looking forward to the arrival of merchandise at my local Apple Store. Hope it won't take too much away from Mac products being displayed.

I suggest that Apple sell iPod shirts or other wearables with a small Apple logo too. It's hard to believe, but I continue to meet people who are very familiar with iPods but aren't aware that the same company makes computers too. Might as well give them what they want, and let them go around advertising Apple while they're at it.

I would very much like a
quicktime-button.gif
T-shirt! :D

Yes, it would be advertising for Apple. Occasionally I see someone wearing a T-Shirt that was probably obtained at an opening or with a purchase. It is my understanding that Apple already sells some of these items at the Cupertino campus shop.

I lost my pair of stickers that came with my iBook :(

This is good news for me! Hopefully, they can re-make some of the older merchendise, too. I would love one of the old striped-mac window clings for my car.

I think they definitely have the reputation to bring out audio products... maybe cooperate with existing audio equipment manufacturers and co-brand speakers and sound systems.

Apple&Olufsen?
...
...

Apple McIntosh?

Authentic Apple apparel? Cool!

Its cool if Apple decides to start this program back up again. It would be even better if they also offered it at the Online Apple Store. I just hope and really wish they would dig up and start producing those old "vintage Apple" logo shirts, hats, coffee mugs, and other merchandise again, think vintage Macintosh 128K and Apple II posters as well (My favorite is the Albert Einstein one). Cause sites like Redlight Runner? are expensive. The "multi-colored Apple" logo was way more cool than todays logo.

Just my 2 cents! :D

I'd like a functional and nice digital Apple watch. My current watch I love (yes, I am diagnosed with OCD) and I literally cannot sleep without it. However it is growing old and if Apple makes something that can do everything this one does... I would seriously consider buying it.

I hope that they do put the clothing range in the stores soon as I fancy a polo shirt but, for the love of all that is holy, don't take away or diminish the software ranges to make room for it.

It is hard enough to find good software for the Mac but, to loose the ability to get it physically from the Apple store would be just about enough to make me get a cheap HP laptop from Best Buy instead.

I know that you can buy it from the Online store but its not much good without a US credit card/address.
