I guess I am not a target customer? I am not subscribed to any of these services. iCloud is expensive and clunky, probably the poorest cloud service out there feature-wise.

I have my music on my iPod and I don't find the need to pay monthly to listen to my music, if a song I like comes out, I will get it and put it in my list... it is that simple.

And Apple TV+... The only reason I will have it is because it came free with my purchase.

Apple News, who that?

iCloud is on average $36 per year for 250gb of storage.

Why anyone is NOT using iCloud is completely beyond me if you have multiple apple devices or a family with multiple devices. It's the one NO BRAINER everyone should be taking advantage of.

I won't be taking advantage of this possible bundle. I'll already be getting the free year of Apple TV+ with my iPhone Pro Max purchase. I've also already pre-paid 3 years of Apple Music with $100 gift cards that Paypal periodically sells for $85.

Sorry Apple. I only reluctantly have a 99 cent iCloud sub. Apple
Music comes with Verizon but hardly use it. No interest in a bundle.
Well, thanks to people like you is the reason Apple Arcade even exists. Refusing to spend a few bucks on a game that led to the monstrosity of Free to Play games and now Apple swooping in with Arcade. A service that has to exist now for those of us who are perfectly and logically ok with parting with a few bucks per month for quality apps while OTHERS whine about spending a measly buck to back up your entire digital life.

I agree with this sentiment. It's 2019, cloud services are here to stay and thinking you don't "need" them is like when people used to say "i have a landline, why do i NEED a cellular phone?"

Hahaha... Have you checked the competition? OneDrive and Google Drive offer you more storage for better pricing plus access to services, real professional software and universal integration with all sorts of devices independent of manufacturer.

iCloud web is primitive compared to what you can do in web-based Google Drive for example. Not long ago even drag&drop was not supported, and the website is still super clunky.

I do have a job by the way. Thanks... I also have a cloud service I rely on, it just happen to be a better option.

Never said I didn’t purchase a game? I don’t believe in paying a sub to have a few games on my phone. I don’t do freemium either.

Everytime you buy a new phone you get one year of Apple TV+ for free? So I bought one so I get 1 year free now right? Then, If I buy one next year will I get another year free?
As far as I'm aware, you only get one free year per iCloud account, regardless of how many new devices you purchase.

I’d do a hardware bundle if Apple offered it. Why just limit it to iPhones?

Edit: I DO have a cloud service... it just happen to be a better option than iCloud.

You are not the target customer. For instance, I’m somewhat techy, but even when I more tech inclined, iCloud does everything I need. Keep my files and photos easily accessible and keep a backup of my contacts, calendar, etc. I have a decent amount so I pay for extra storage. And this is exactly who it’s for. A couple bucks a month to not have to worry about running out of storage.

Why is Apple even talking with music labels about it? I’m guessing Apple wants to alter revenue sharing?

Thing about bundles is that Apple can’t really take a hit on what little they can charge now. The music subs especially as each music one has expenses. The margins are already low here.

The costs for arcade and atv is different. It’s more fixed because Apple pays a lump sum to license or produce content.

I am not really thrilled with Apple services because of the expense. There is no question that I can afford their offerings, but what is reasonable? Forbes did a dissection of the costs last month:

I am not paying $100 per month.

as much as i dislike apple and hollywood, a 100 bucks for All is quite Ok,
give an extra ipad now and then and its cheap

Discounted bundles have their place...as long as there still is an a la carte option.

They should also bundle hardware...ie. iPad with Pencil.

I would personally like that. All their services for $24.99 and family accounts for $39.99. Music, TV, Arcade, News, and 1TB of cloud storage.

Please and thank you.
I'd like to see them bury iTunes Match in there somewhere too.

Question now is, I bought my 11 Pro Max on 21st Sep. Come 1st Nov when TV+ launches, am I still entitled to the free 1 year subscription?

Two words: Data caps.

I have 3 TB of photographs, and 7TB of my own media content. A single virtual machine can be 100-200 MB, and changes constantly, so backing up to the cloud is a non-starter. Restoring a single 512 GB iPad will use 1/2 of my monthly cap (thank you Comcast), and take many more hours to complete than using local storage.

Related: Slow upload speeds. Without FIOS, doing the initial backup would take weeks (and likewise blow the cap).

Also: There's no SLA on iCloud. Read the TOS - Apple completely disclaims data loss. Even if you want to use the cloud as one storage location, you still need another option as well.
