as everyone here said - bundle it with icloud! and it would be great if they would finally up their max plan from 2tbs...

My music is available on all the streaming services. Out of a thousand or so listens (combined over all the services), I've made a whopping $5. I don't think the music industry has to worry about losing money. They're doing just fine.

One of my favorite artists has stopped recording music because of this. He makes no money from streaming, so it's not worth it. He just tours constantly.

Why would labels or studios eat their margins on Apple's bundle? Details are missing from this clickbait.
The studios don't get margins based on sales or streams. They got paid upfront from Apple and they probably get a bonus if they hit a certain amount of streams which is why they would only want a bundle. Music label payouts are structured completely different which is why Apple has to renegotiate with them to sell them on bundle pricing.

All Apple subscriptions:
  1. Apple Arcade ($4.99 for family)
  2. Apple Music ($4.99 for students, $9.99 for individuals, $14.99 for family)
  3. Apple News+ ($9.99 for family)
  4. Apple TV+ ($4.99 for family, 1st year free with qualified purchase)
  5. iCloud ($0.99 for 50GB, $2.99 for 200GB family, $9.99 for 2TB family)
  6. iTunes Match ($24.99, included with Apple Music)
The complete bundle ranges from to $23.04 (iTunes Match substituted for Apple Music) to $44.95.

If Apple can give away Apple TV+ with qualifying purchase, I think Apple will minimally discount the bundle by $5/month.

Possible bundling options:

Entertainment Bundle: $19.99, discounted from $24.97
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple Music Family
  • Apple TV+
Apple Individual Bundle: $24.99, discounted from $30.95
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple Music Individuals
  • Apple News+
  • Apple TV+
  • iCloud 50GB
Apple Family Bundle: $34.99-39.99, discounted from $44.95
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple Music Family
  • Apple News+
  • Apple TV+
  • iCloud 2TB
I doubt Apple will offer multiple bundles, however. Knowing Apple, Apple Family Bundle at $39.99 is most likely (which is also least compelling IMO).

My dream bundle: $14.99, discounted from $22.05 ($9.99, discounted from $15.05 for iCloud 200GB)
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple TV+
  • iCloud 2TB
  • iTunes Match

I saw this too!

Bundles are evil. They try to hook you and reel you in with “promotions”, but in 6 months or whenever, they start jacking up the price. They THINK their content is so wonderful and awe-inspiring that it’ll get you addicted, and that works for a while until you realize that you’re paying $150 a month for their commercials and their lame idealogy.

Keep your liberty. RESIST all subscriptions, especially “The Bundle”.
So long as you can cancel at anytime, subscriptions are not a bad thing. Are credit cards evil? Not if you understand how to use them and don't get caught paying off interest all the time. They might be a little predatory for ignorant consumers but subscriptions are no different.

Translation: Initial consumer interest in Apple TV+ is tepid at best.
I suspect majority of the Apple TV+ subscribers will be getting the first year of Apple TV+ for free. I think the bundle will more in response to tepid Apple News+.

I am not really thrilled with Apple services because of the expense. There is no question that I can afford their offerings, but what is reasonable? Forbes did a dissection of the costs last month:

I am not paying $100 per month.

Their services do not cost $100.00 a month. As an individual, you would pay:

  1. $9.99 for Apple Music
  2. $9.99 for Apple News+
  3. $4.99 for Apple Arcade
  4. $4.99 for Apple TV+
  5. $0.99 (50GB), $2.99 (200GB), or $9.99 (2TB).
Or between $30.95 and $39.95 depending on storage.

A family of 6 would pay $5.00 more if the want to share the storage or they can each get their own storage at the listed prices.

The Forbes article is completely disingenuous (shocking, I know), in that it includes the hardware 0% lease program as a ”service”, and then takes the most expensive version of that to make it top $100.

I like New

Wrong... I like News+ since I was subscribing to 3 or 4 of those magazine independently.
Cool you and the 4 other people that do can have a tea party or something. I like magazines too, but I get them from Readly where you get 10 times as many for the same price.

Hahaha... Have you checked the competition? OneDrive and Google Drive offer you more storage for better pricing plus access to services, real professional software and universal integration with all sorts of devices independent of manufacturer.

Google Drive’s pricing is exactly the same: 200GB for $2.99, 2TB for $9.99.

Readly is a fine service, it just does not have the content I want. The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times (my local newspaper) and The Toronto Star (my dad’s home town paper) are not covered. Nor are several of the digital magazines I read like New York Magazine’s The Cut.

While I am sure that you usually have the most up-to-date subscription numbers for Apple News+, I think you might be off a bit in this case.

No option for a one time Annual Renewal with savings? No thanks Tim Apple. :apple:

Agreed. I enjoy Apple Music but have no need for TV or gaming.
If they mess with my standalone music, then hello Spotify.

If they eliminate my Annual Apple Music renewal ability I'll be done as well. :apple:

If Apple hardware is no longer selling well, the subscription service will take a big hit in revenue.
It's not the the hardware is no longer selling well, it's that people are not upgrading as often as before because the hardware has gotten so good and last longer and advances have plateaued. Subscription services will do just fine IMHO.

Everytime you buy a new phone you get one year of Apple TV+ for free? So I bought one so I get 1 year free now right? Then, If I buy one next year will I get another year free?

I think the "1 year free" promo is just for the initial launch of Apple TV +. With Disney + being released in the same month, this is a way to get substantial subscriber numbers (and hopefully that audience will extend the subscription once their free run ends)

OneDrive is 6TB for 9.99 technically, and includes Office.

Actually, OneDrive is $9.99 for 1,000GB each for up to 6 users. Adding a second 1,000GB for a single user is $9.99, so to get Office and 2,000GB, you pay $15.98 for one user.

I think the "1 year free" promo is just for the initial launch of Apple TV +.
It's free because it has nothing to offer anyone. No one anywhere is going to subscribe to only original content. If its a free, they might watch something if they're bored of their other paid content, and might keep it if they find a series they like.

But Apple doesn't care either way. They're claiming this free giveaway as $60 of paid services revenue, completely distorting reality fo shareholders. They never have to sell single subscription, and will be able to pretend year after year that it is a huge success with constant numbers.

iCloud is on average $36 per year for 250gb of storage. You are either extremely stingy or don't have a job.

Why anyone is NOT using iCloud is completely beyond me if you have multiple apple devices or a family with multiple devices. It's the one NO BRAINER everyone should be taking advantage of.

Looks like you are living in a bubble. Check the competition! :) Phone companies, gyms, cable providers and actually any kind of subscription service live off people like you who sign in and never check the contract to see if any other company has made a better deal or service in the meantime.

This could bring the remaining free holdouts into paying for content. I know friends who either use the free tier on Spotify or play music on YouTube but all of them pay for cable because it's just something they're used to. If you could tell them that $15 bucks gets them TV but also gets them music, news and maybe even games, they'll jump at the chance. People only have a finite amount of time so whichever service they spend more time in, would get most of that revenue. If anything, the music industry would get a bigger cut because it's perfectly common to have people listen to music in the background whereas watching TV is more of an activate participation and most people don't have a lot of time for it.

I might actually be their target audience for once. Currently, I have:

- iTunes Match: been a subscriber since it launched; I currently have over 40,000 songs in my iTunes - from a combination of ripped CDs, LP download codes, Bandcamp, iTunes, eMusic, 7 Digital and others.
- 2TB iCloud plan: replaced my Dropbox as it was far easier to sync a desktop folder and access files on my work Mac, two home Macs, an iPhone and two iPads without installing additional apps.
- Apple Music: free with my Verizon plan; I wouldn't pay as I listen to all that music I own for the most part.
- Apple Arcade: trying it out for a month or two.
- iPhone Upgrade Program (with AppleCare): not sure why it's mentioned - it's a credit line with a third party, not a standard Apple subscription.

Depending on pricing, an all-in Apple subscription could save me money every month.
