7 pages of what Apple should do and what you want them to do etc. Fact of the matter is, its all guess work. You wont know your options until you have spoken to Apple following confirmation of the loss.
Report back with what they actually offer at that point for suggestions?....

okay, you take your laptop to apple for a battery replacement and see how you feel if they lose it.

whether it was lost, stolen, or broken, it was under apple’s care and they need to remedy it.

Yeah, I really don’t understand the trolling either. If apple lost their machine, they’d be first on here demanding a Mac pro and lawyering up. Or they’d just meekly accept whatever the manager gave them. I hope apple makes you right, I think a 14 inch is a perfectly reasonable replacement.

Molly? is it? If you are a female, you should understand the internal judgement and jealously women can have.

Just add that to an entire population of people in the USA. Us Men have it too. We're just less vocal about it.

Allow them on an ANONYMOUS forum. You'll see their true colors.

I didn't throw "ALL OF US" into the jealous/mean category, I threw "MOST OF THEM" into that category. Hence my specific choice of words.

Also, they either have jealously and/or a high degree of mean to them. All countries have it. Americans are on a whole different level.

I'm looking forward to hearing the resolution on this. I know my fellow Americans looooove corporations and think apple should do the bare minimum but one of the reasons we continue to buy products and services from certain companies is that they go above and beyond in customer support. It's why I'm still with my current mobile provider and why I continue to buy from Apple. Wishing you luck!

Apple can either be good and give the OP what they want or they can be legal and just give the OP what little the law allows them to give. All of us will have to wait and see what the outcome is.

Treating the OP as a greedy person who asks too much or blaming the OP instead of Apple is bullying or trolling. Explaining the OP in a normal/empathetic/friendly way what to expect is not bullying or trolling.

It is not rocket science. It is called 'decent interpersonal behaviour', a skill a 'minor' few lack in this thread.

OP has already CONFIRMED that a replacement 13" M1 at minimum once the 24 hour investigation is done.

OP has stated the Manager UNDERSTOOD his preference for the 14" for the ports and is "undecided" as a replacement under OP's FUNCTIONALITY concerns.

BUT if OP plays his cards right, he might just get the 14" free of charge, which works out better for him.

which most of us are rooting for him because it makes sense.

There are people being realistic, and then there are people who are flat out insulting. Basically telling op to take the $400 for their old macbook pro and shut up. Why wouldn't we be rooting for OP to get the best they possibly can out if this situation, other than just being generally awful humans.
 
So, as the solution: the manager told me that: if the UPS confirms the goods are lost, okay, then the replacement will take place by Apple. The equivalent device was said by the manager as 13" MBP 2020 with M1 processor. I asked why, because my device was the newest one at the time I purchased, however the 2020 model MBPs are 1 year older ones as we are at the end of 2021 by the way. And also I stated that I was also planning to purchase that M1 processored 2020 model MBPs, however due to the lack of plugs like HDMI and SD Card, I decided to avoid, which was the real situation (This was also the reason why I decided to give a new battery to my early 2015.)
So in this case, I stated this and 2021 model seems better to me for those reasons, which is partially accepted by the manager. However nothing is determined 100% yet.

They will call me until tomorrow evening, if my device is really lost, then we start arranging the best option like either 2020 13" MBP or 2021 14" MBP.
I asked about any price, the manager told me that there is no price if I accept the base-level MBP replacement. I mean I will not be charged for the battery replacement process.
I guess, they told me, if the issue resolves tomorrow, they can directly proceed me a MBP 2020 or 2021, as they have in stock, surely the base-models.
he has options and wiggle room for sure.

he's definitely getting a newer replacement FOR SURE if his laptop is 100% lost.

No need to debate value of his previous MacBook.
 
It sucks that they lost it, but protecting your information was your responsibility, not theirs.
Strong disagree. They lost the device, they were responsible for it and everything on it. OP trusted them and they fumbled hard. More damage has been done than monetary losses

We live and we learn guys.

He followed the advice of his Genius Bar employee (mistake he admits) as he trusted that Genius Bar employee.

He was NOT EXPECTING his device to get lost in transit to repair. Very rare but not impossible.

We've already gotten past this whole personal data part. its in the past.

We're now focused on awaiting his BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT option ????

He is right, you are wrong. This from Apple's Repair Terms and Conditions:-

1.11 Customer’s Responsibility.
1.11.2 It is your responsibility to backup all existing data, software, and programs, and to erase all existing data before receiving services. Apple is not responsible for loss, recovery, or compromise of data, programs or loss of use of equipment arising out of the services provided by Apple. You represent that your product does not contain illegal files or data.

This is why the OP would not be able to make a claim against their personal data because 1.11.2 clearly states that is the customers responsibility to erase data before recieving services. Which basically means, the OP should have deleted all the personal data before handing it to the Apple store.

This is why people need to be careful what they say in their posts because it can lead to misinformation.
