Apple Lowers Price of EarPods by $10 Now That They Aren't Included With iPhones

Yet Apple didn’t reduce the price of the SE, which is now doesn’t come with power adapter and EarPods. Talk about cheapskates for a premium brand like Apple.

If Apple cared so much for the environment, why not offer some credit for people if they bring their unused EarPods and power adaptors for recycling? Oh that’s not profitable... but we will sell you those stuff....

I think losing the headphones is absolutely fine and shouldn't be expected to come with a phone. The loss of the power brick will annoy some this year, especially if they've only got old Lightning power adapters.

But come next year, no one will care anymore. It's the right decision from a business and environmental standpoint, and ultimately, with less and less people using the included EarPods in favour of their own offerings, and more and more people using Qi charging, it makes sense. And with USB-C becoming more ubiquitous by the day, people will have chargers galore across various devices.

Good. Now all the people complaining about Apple being greedy can stop saying those frivolous things.

Including EarPods sucks for the environment. Instead, Apple can use *SOME* of the money saved towards reinvesting in R&D in other areas. (yes, OF COURSE they'll pocket some of that savings too)
Consuming iPhones sucks 10000 times worse. Why don’t they stop selling them?

Does anyone have spare USB-C chargers? I personally have zero.

Wait a minute. Apple says we have piles of them. Why on earth would they supply for the first time in history a USB-C charging cable?

Oh wait.....

I for one enjoy doubled base storage at no additional cost which some of that EarPods money paid for. Think about that before writing such a stupid comment.
Except that storage has increased plenty of times before without something being taken away for it. Storage also goes down in price over time and this point with Apple sticking to lower storage options for longer periods it's even cheaper. So, yes, some thinking would certainly be a good thing to do.

That's why for at least the first year of the change they should have included a new power adapter for the new cable they decided to include. Even when they removed the headphone jack not only did they include updated headphones that would work but even a separate adapter for other headphones too.

Well I'm standing in the lots of extra chargers, cables and headphones crowd. I only use wireless charging anyway and if not I plug into, idk, a computer, the usb port on my tv, in my car, literally anywhere.

I agree with the position of it being unnecessary waste. Sorry if you guys don't already have this stuff, I only really sympathise if you're buying this for your kids who've never had an iPhone before.

Lol wow what a generous move by Apple. It was embarrassing for Apple to provide 64GB of storage for a Pro model phone. If they can do that, why not give a price reduction for 256 and 512?

They could have doubled to 128GB and increased the price slightly, but they didn't.

There are many reasons and strategies for how Apple price their products. The Pro and Pro Max cost the same as last year, but yet Pro Max has better camera features than the Pro (last year they were the same). Shouldn't the Pro Max cost more this year then? Nope. Expecting one strategy to be applied to all iPhones doesn't make sense.

Why would it cost more? Do you think every year that Apple improves their phone they should increase the price? We’d all be paying $5000 before long with your logic. They are supposed to improve the phone each year and are already charging a massive premium for their phones.

I never used them anyway. but they should have dropped the price of an iPhone $10 to $20

GREEDY

Luke 12:15

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

I think its absolutely fine for me. Why? Because my iPhone X cable, headphones, 3.5mm adaptor and power brick are still unopened. Same with my XS Max accessories. My 11 Pro Max accessories including the new USB-c cable are in the box. I never opened any of it. When I traded in my prior phones, they didn't take the accessories. I have braided cables and use third usb-c chargers that are either smaller or multiport.

People just need to stop defending this and realize what this is. Its way for Apple to make more money off of the consumer. Thinking anything other than this is just pure blind fanboyism.

I love Apple products, but this is as greedy as it gets and its honestly pretty low.

Wow, great for you! Im sure everyone else in the world is in the exact same position.

They doubled storage before without doing that. So that aspect of it is basically moot.

Most of those who have had an iPhone before (which is still far from everyone who might have an iPhone in the future) don't have a USB-C charger that would work with the new cable that is now included.

I have many chargers from past devices so this makes sense for me but wish the price was reduced to match as well. Maybe I can trade a few of the old chargers for a high powered usb-c charger.
