To address your complaint, they had an emergency meeting at Apple HQ. The outcome of the meeting was that they will make sure to skip the cord as well next time!I think they forgot that about 99% of those "2 billion Apple power adapters in the world" are USB-A, which won't work with the new Lightning to USB-C cord shipping with all new iPhones... smh
So if they give you the $19 for the missing EarPods, are you going to give them the extra $100ish for the 5G radio and antennas?Considering they were included with a purchase of an iPhone before, seems like even at $19 it's $19 that is being paid by consumers when they would be purchasing a new iPhone without getting anything for it now.
Previous iPhone models have had improvements every year, with 4G/LTE being added, better WiFi, more cameras, etc. and somehow accessories weren't removed to make up for that all those years. So if they give you the $19 for the missing EarPods, are you going to give them the extra $100ish for the 5G radio and antennas?
Why would it cost more? Do you think every year that Apple improves their phone they should increase the price? We’d all be paying $5000 before long with your logic. They are supposed to improve the phone each year and are already charging a massive premium for their phones.
You win the fanboy comment of the year for that statement.
That's still not safe for the environment. In before iPhone 2025 ships without a screen and a monthly sub is required to lease it, *reserved*
Actually, they probably will make more margins in the end as they already added $30 for the non-Verizon/AT&T iPhones. So those price drops are already counted in elsewhere, with an extra $10.Now only making 1000% margin rather than 1900%
One reason, one strategy: to increase shareholder value. Economies of scale would factor in here, yet Apple increases their prices. They certainly don't pass those savings down to us.They could have doubled to 128GB and increased the price slightly, but they didn't.
There are many reasons and strategies for how Apple price their products. The Pro and Pro Max cost the same as last year, but yet Pro Max has better camera features than the Pro (last year they were the same). Shouldn't the Pro Max cost more this year then? Nope. Expecting one strategy to be applied to all iPhones doesn't make sense.
So you like to pay more for less? I'm having a hard time grappling with this.In 6 years, I’ve used 5 iPhones. I used one of the included earpods and three of the charging bricks. These just end up in the garbage. Better not to include them.
And yet after so many years of new iPhones and materials and increases in storage and more cameras accessories weren't being removed to make up for it. That aspect of it just doesn't hold up even with a spin on it.
And even if that somehow applies to what Apple procures (which is fairly different a lot of the time) that still doesn't change how iPhones have been getting better and better and storage has been increasing a number of times before (even when some prices fluctuated here or there) without that somehow needing to be offset by removing accessories. For one, price of flash storage increased between 2017-2018. So it's not like materials are always getting cheaper.

They had the "COURAGE" to remove the 3.5 mm audio jack. But when would they have the "COURAGE" to put USB C connector on iPhones? Wouldn't be more convenient and ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY for all these years if I could use the same adapter and the same cable for my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook? Corporate greed at the highest level!
Dude what are you talking about. It costs Apple less and less every year. Its basic business principals.
Sources in the know tell us that the increase in price for the high-capacity iPad Pro models is due to a dramatic increase in the cost of NAND flash storage.
I think losing the headphones is absolutely fine and shouldn't be expected to come with a phone. The loss of the power brick will annoy some this year, especially if they've only got old Lightning power adapters.
But come next year, no one will care anymore. It's the right decision from a business and environmental standpoint, and ultimately, with less and less people using the included EarPods in favour of their own offerings, and more and more people using Qi charging, it makes sense. And with USB-C becoming more ubiquitous by the day, people will have chargers galore across various devices.
Man... this is so true. I still wonder what Steve Jobs would think of the dongle nightmare that is the current state of MacBooks. They had the "COURAGE" to remove the 3.5 mm audio jack. If people are interested in both accessories then they should think of it as a $38 price increase across all models. I believe they should be offering the USB-C power adapter at checkout upon request—$0—but even so it is not a deal breaker for less than twenty, or even forty, dollars.Apple has now lowered the price of its EarPods with a Lightning connector from $29 to $19. Apple's new 20W power adapter for iPhones also retails for $19, down from $29 for its now-discontinued 18W power adapter
