I must say, Apple's been doing a good job of keeping their secrets under wraps this year. No one expected the Macbook Pro in January, or heck even the iMac.

So far all the Macbook & new iPod rumours have been completely false.

Kudos to Apple :D

I'm gonna get my first ipod soon. Should I wait? What d'ya think?

At least wait until the end of the month, then you'll know wether to grow a banana grenade from your syrup shoebox to compliment a feathered crumpet of madness.

Just my 2 pence. UK.

Rich.

Why am I not in the least suprised. This is beginning to annoy me, if you don't have good sources don't post this crap. It's really annoying. ThinkSecret is exactly what their name suggests, they think up a secret and tell everyone they don't get there information from anyone.

It's got to be Steve's event May 19th

So much ego wrapped up in the May 19th store opening. Of course Jobs is going to want to announce some big news at the openning of his personal giant cube.

no problem for me as I want to wait anyhow so I can buy the new macbook for my mom and get a free ipod with the student union promo...that is if they have something similar this year... It makes the wait a bit easier when it isnt released yet!:)
Last year it started the end of june.

I think that student union promo was to get rid of the ipod minis.. not saying there won't be a promo, but I don't know if I would expect a free ipod.

hahahahahahhahaahah this is so great
i agree with MUCKYFINGERS, oke it would be bad to buy an ibook right now, i guess everyone can agree with me on that.
But i wanted mac since januari and i was at the point buying a 12"PB when i unfortunatily discovered macrumors.......
So if i had bought it then i would have an PB for 6months now and never cared about an new macbook..
I bought a 2gb nano last week, seeing the rumors allready about nano updates this will be hell, cant wait forever!
now with new systems on the horizon im allready thinking about waiting again till this merom mobile ships with macbook... im losing it:confused:

Well, iPods currently don't have any rumors other than being released in late 2006, so I'm pretty sure it'll be a while. I doubt they will come out sooner than expected, the rumors always seem to predict things earlier than they are, rather than later. The only thing I can think of that came out earlier than rumored was Intel Macs, and those rumors have little effect on the iPod releases... so yeah...I'd say get it soon. Besides, the current 5G is really great, I don't have one but will most likely buy one within the next two weeks to replace my dying 2G mini.

Seriously, what boxes.
there were boxes at some apple stores with "do not open until Tuesday, May 9th." I'm honestly thinking its the RHCP ipod....I will be surprised to see MacBooks released tomorrow.

I would expect Apple would wait until after E3 to release new products. If anything so they can run the technology news cycle.

Absofreakinglutely!

A redesigned Mac, especially one as crucial as the iBook/MacBook is going to have a Stevenote and all that goes along with it. No way is it coming out like the MBP 17".

It'd be quite a day if he did the intro right there in Manhattan before the assembled faithful!

Actually it's a great move by AppleInsider. Whatever happens tommorow, they will still be right. lol

They are now saying it's coming tommorow and it's not coming, either way they win ;)

Are you freaking kidding me?

I guess you haven't seen the dozens of posts debunking this?

this is some of the best entertainment i've had recently, watching everyone going crazy over the iBook replacement rumors, and seeing AppleInsider's reputation kinda just slip out of their fingers, and roll down the cliff, never to be seen again...

What has AI screwed up in this? Their biggest gaffe was probably posting about the seminar, but they pulled that almost immediately. I don't think they've ever committed to a firm date on the MB (and they'll be right on it not announced tomorrow). It's Think Secret that keeps throwing out dates. AI has been pretty accurate lately, it's TS's that's in the toilet right now.
