Not at all. I will be more than happy to shell out $1500 for an Apple computer without OS X.

A 13.3" computer with good looks and an x1600? I probably would. :p

The MacBook is not going to be released today. This shows two points. One being that ThinkSecret is not a valid source for Mac Rumors anymore. In contrast, Appleinsider seems to have their sources straight. And the other point being that a MacBook release will merit some sort of a press conference, in my opinion, since the NYC Fifth Avenue store is due to open within this month, Steve Jobs will announce it then.

But it would still be a Linux/Windows box. Pbbth. I'll build a desktop for less than that if I want to game.

In computer news today....

Apple made an announcement that you can now personalize your Ipod.
Please go to the Apple Store for complete details.

Rad man.

Ibooks later this month. I'd say before Memorial Day. They'll be good when they get out but I hope they don't all come in white. What's worst than seeing a white notebook with every smudge and ding?

I know it has been brought up before, but how about this... For real,

what if Steve Jobs showed up at this event tomorrw at Comp USA and said, "oh... here is the new iBook. You didn't believe us when we posted on the Apple Site???"

This could really be the deal... Hidden in plain view right under our noses. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants!

I am sure your arms hurt from that long reach.

It is somewhat pathetic that Apple has not yet managed to get a consumer-priced Core Duo portable to market.

Are you on crack? Apple has released four new computers in the last five months (with the fifth coming later this month), all of which are built on a completely new chipset.

It's somewhat pathetic that you have such an inflated sense of self that you honestly believe that Apple should have made the machine you're interested in a higher priority than all others.

Appleinsider loves to get everyones hopes up and suddenly changes it a day or week before. Crap just say it will come out in the next quarter instead of building this kind of stuff up.

Someone at macuser.de told us, it were new Ipod nanos, with 6 & 9 gb space in the "donot open till 9th" boxes..

A little disapointing isnt it.

9 GB? 6GB works (using 4 2GB chips). 8 works too by putting 4 more chips (you can already do this on your own if you have 2 4GB Nanos and some soldering skills). But 9 GB is just wrong. No space for 10 except they change the chips to higher capacity ones. It's time for a 8 GB Nano...

You can write anything and be aproximately right.....

I think Think Secret has proved that statement wrong many times.

You're thinking of Think Secret, who does exactly that. Appleinsider has never posted a date more specific than May for the release of these. They acknowledged that some thought it would be announced today but said it wasn't likely.

I don't get all the whining about AI considering they WERE RIGHT. And TS blew it yet again.

TS doesn't have to worry about being sued again I guess. Maybe Apple just bought them out under the table and uses TS to put out misleading information.

Not suprisingly, TS is awfully quiet today.

?

Your guess is as good as mine.

I can't find Apple under exhibitors on E3Insider, but they are on the E3 page under exhibitors.

Strange.

Maybe they're waiting until tomorrow, or the last day of E3?

Rich.

Man I'm glad someone finally asked that question..

Apple Computer is a company..Microsoft is a company..It's singular.

The correct termonology would be "what is Apple doing" not "what are Apple doing"

Just as "what is Microsoft doing" not "what are Microsoft doing".
