Apple haven't released anything other than the mouse with the word Magic in the name and until they do I don't think these reports mean anything

Magic Garageband. Ok, it's not a device - or even a standalone product, but it does fit the trend - which for the record I don't like either (although I did get a Magic Mouse).

IMO, it would be tough to top the Wiimote. The use of the A and B buttons to "grab" items feels so natural, I don't know how Apple could create an improvement upon this without licensing some of Nintendo's patents.

I don't care much about the remote so long as we get a new Apple TV. The hardware is SO outdated.

How an earth can you patent something like this... Its like rip off Wii mote on :apple:TV

Agreed. We need one that does true 1080P, DVR, and maybe BluRay. I know that'll never happen, but one can hope.

Also, I really wish the iTunes Store had better video compression. There are so many artifacts in some shows. Plus, I find that they've cut scenes from movies. Example: the punk on the bus scene from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Grr!

I'm not sure what this has to do with the tablet. I thought we were on all tablet rumors, all the time. You would think that MacRumors would want to tablet as many rumors about the tablet as they could. If a tablet were false, it's more importablet to get the scoop than be right. Maybe I'm just tablet here but in the interestablet of tablet news. Tablet tablet tablet tab tab tab let.

Just my two tablets. :D

Just bought an TV for Christmas... Now they will update it for sure!!! Then they will come out with official TV's both LED and Plasma that are 1/2" thick... All this the day after my last return date...

You see - I alone control the Apple upgrade / update / new product timeline :)

Nintendo, Philips and the lot will all be drawing up a patent law suit as soon as this "MagicWand" is released.

I guess the TV Remote does not cut it anymore these days. :p

Most of these devices are coming across as a gimmick. Oh well cannot blame them for not trying, have to use to billions on some R&D and patents even though others have similar products. ;):D

This "MagicWand" names is sexual on so many levels.

Pass me the MagicWand, which one?:p;):confused::D

Actually Apple's patent is dated 18 months ago. The uWand was introduced this year. And that "magic wand remote"? No one is that geeky. :p

You do realize that when a product is released means nothing, the product could have been in development for a long time and have many amendments before, during and after the patent process and to final production.

For example iPhone and other various :apple: products.

Yup. That's my point exactly in responding to "perhaps Apple's patent is a bit late." No one knows when and where these technologies were in development.

Honestly, I'm still surprised Apple wasn't the one to come out with the Wii.

They did not get around to buying Nintendo. Once they buy Nintendo, history will be rewritten and the Wii will be an Apple invention. No one will even remember Nintendo. :D All kidding aside, if Apple did make it, it would probably look better but what would the price be?

The only thing I could think of is the remote itself would have a better design.

Super Mario Bros 2 on my iPhone plz...!

Nevermind that! I want Super Mario Bros 3! Or maybe just give us Super Mario All Stars so both our requests are covered and then some. And don't forget Super Mario 64!

As for the actual topic... Steve did say this about the iPhone: "It works like magic!"

Whoa!

Look! There is a Photoshop-like application inside the Apple TV patent. That would be awesome!
