Guess everyone figured it out before me, since any extra stock is gone lol. Almost no phones available anywhere in PA or NJ. Figured I'd check to see if there was a jet black 128gb regular 7 available somewhere.

7 Jet Black iPhones?! I hope you are not selling these on eBay, therefore just adding to the shortage of regular priced phones.

EDIT: Oh, NM. 7 for iPhone 7. lol :)

Your greatly underestimate how lazy I am to be so entrepreneurial.

I thought demand was so high, that units are back ordered till November.

Amazing how apple found all that extra stock for launch day! Good guys!

/sarcasm

Glad the people on the upgrade program will get theirs after all, in my point of view they should have priority. All good, ends will. Hope you all get the phones you want .

Man this has really been a cluster for Apple.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple gives some sort of apology "gift" to IUP people once this is all said and done. Sort of reminds me of when they dropped the price of the original iphone a couple months after releasing it. Everyone got $100 Apple Store gift card iirc.

just placed an order for a iPhone 7 Plus Gold 256GB Verizon at the Kenwood store in Cincinnati. Still waiting for Apple to call me back from my 2 hour Monday phone Call. I really wanted a black one (jet or plain). But since mine is in a case all the time it really doesn't matter. I'll had to settle for a Gold on last year. If they call me I'll see if they can switch me to black. I'll even pick it up at a latter date. Like others have said Jet Black is not even listed.

What they most likely did was take the stock that is being sent to the stores. There are always phones available for people who que on launch day. This could actually cause that to be affected.

It is really good to see Apple fix this.

The experience led to frustrations and even a class action lawsuit, prompting Apple to collect information from customers affected in an attempt to make the situation right.

Order of operations matters significantly in this story. You got it wrong. There was frustration over the situation, Apple came up with a plan and implemented it, THEN a lawsuit was filed AFTER Apple was doing something about it. The lawsuit couldn't have prompted a damn thing as it happened AFTER Apple had already started dealing with the issue...

How did you get this wrong when MacRumors reported it in the correct order?

Confirmed. I received an e-mail and found nothing was available on Monday. Decided what the heck and tried again yesterday and nearly every color was available in the location nearby.

Picking it up on the 16th. 7 Jet black 128gb. Silver is still unavailable everywhere in NYC, but poor rose gold is in abundant supply.

Any 128/256 black plus models in NYC?

but what about me and the millions of other people that were up at 300AM EST and couldn't order the jet black plus for launch day :(:(:(:(:(

At least in Philly nothing really seems to have opened up.

I tried calling to see if I could do a model swap but the agents weren't able to get through to the iPhone Upgrade Program specialists due to heavy volume.

Was on hold for a combined total of 2+ hours so I don't really think it's the right move to keep trying. I'll just see what they can do in store day-of.

Ditto. Nothing in Jersey or Delaware either.

Apple didn't find extra stock. They just move stock around. Someone else is now getting shorted. They most likely have some many iPhones for different programs and areas allotted. They probably also have extra iPhones for any hickups in the system that needs to be addressed. Broken/damage iPhone replacements etc.

I completely agree with you . Just could not resist the sarcastic reply. On a serious note really happy upgrade customers are being looked after

Called apple on Monday at 6:40, sat on hold for 2 hours and 45 minutes and finally got to an IUP representative who said he put me on "the list" Said I would hear back from them in 48 hours, received an email this morning Wednesday saying that additional stock was available, I went to the site, put in my serial and IMEI and was able to reserve a black 128 gb 7+ for friday!!! Well worth the wait and I'm glad Apple came up with a solution for their most loyal customers.

Totally agree. I made it more clear I was sarcastic in the first part of my post.

From what I've seen on the various wires, it seems Apple has allocated a estimated set of units to cover people who bought the phone and got on the upgrade program LAST year for each individual store. They assumed that these people would probably come in right away and get the upgrade since that was part of the point of the program. However, they didn't communicate to any people that this was happening, so everyone assumed you just reserve like normal in the app for your pre-order appointment setting. The problem was at this spot, because in the app, it didn't show the stock as available, and everyone was in the dark.

Can confirm most MD stores, the DC store and some VA stores (except Clarendon/Pentagon City) got the stock refresh today.

Reserved a 7+ 128gb black T-Mobile for Friday! Maybe even the last one as that particular color/model is out of stock.

I had a reservation for a 7 but as soon as i canceled it, all the extra stock appeared.

I have gotten 3 emails today from apple, 48 hours after I called them. They said to recheck the stock for friday, but still nothing in Plus. Also now they are claiming they will contact me within 72 hours.

I was under the assumption they would call me like they have others, so I have called them back and left a voice mail with the rep that took all my info.

This is what my E-mail said from 11:35 PM EST last night
"
Thank you for your recent call about the iPhone Upgrade Program. We are reviewing your request and will follow up with more information shortly."

I have a Gold one on order but may cancel it and try for a Black one on Saturday. I wish Apple wouldn't limit the search to one day.

I want a 7 plus in black, all they previously had available was the 7 in black which I reserved

Contacted the upgrade program number they said they'll search for me. The reservation page specifically states you can switch your choice to something else as long as stock is available. However some say if you cancel your reservation you'll see more in store options (not sure why this is the case). Having said that I'm afraid to cancel what I have now with the option of switching in store to instead hope that cancelling will show more in stock phones with the chance nothing extra shows up and I am left with no appointment and no option to switch
