Man this has really been a cluster for Apple.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple gives some sort of apology "gift" to IUP people once this is all said and done. Sort of reminds me of when they dropped the price of the original iphone a couple months after releasing it. Everyone got $100 Apple Store gift card iirc.

Free case like what happened in 2010 with the iPhone 4? I doubt they will do anything though. They have been getting negative PR a bit lately...yesterday people bricked their iPhones trying to update to iOS 10. I mean, really a lot of this negative press probably hasn't gone much beyond the "geek" community but its still not good.

Just use the Apple Store app in the phone an when you pick the store it will tell you what's there. Stuff that wasn't "available" yesterday is there now.

It doesn't let me pick any store. It only allows me to ship it to by house. It says, Pickup is currently unavailable. Any ideas?

I think people did overreact in some quarters, and I really think they didn't roll this out the way it needed to happen, but I absolutely do not think that anyone who was affected (myself included) deserve any kind of free gift because of such an incredibly minor inconvenience. They took care of it, the phones aren't even out, and instead of getting the phone at 8am I get it at noon. I'll live.

I want a 7 plus in black, all they previously had available was the 7 in black which I reserved

Contacted the upgrade program number they said they'll search for me. The reservation page specifically states you can switch your choice to something else as long as stock is available. However some say if you cancel your reservation you'll see more in store options (not sure why this is the case). Having said that I'm afraid to cancel what I have now with the option of switching in store to instead hope that cancelling will show more in stock phones with the chance nothing extra shows up and I am left with no appointment and no option to switch

In the same situation - have a 128 silver plus reserved but want the black version. Has anyone cancelled their reservation and seen more stock because of it? I'm showing no 7 plus stock at all in Texas.

At least in Philly nothing really seems to have opened up.

I tried calling to see if I could do a model swap but the agents weren't able to get through to the iPhone Upgrade Program specialists due to heavy volume.

Was on hold for a combined total of 2+ hours so I don't really think it's the right move to keep trying. I'll just see what they can do in store day-of.
You can't see the new stock if you already have a reservation. I had to cancel mine in order to see everything available and then make a new reservation. There was def stock added to King of Prussia and Christiana Mall in delaware. Didn't check city stores. I would find someone that doesn't currently have a res (but is in IUP) to check stock before you cancel your reservation though.

That's very odd. Did you explicitly choose that you are upgrading the phone you're using? That's what brought me to the store list. I had to pick the state and then the stores loaded, and it was straightforward from there.

Glad to know that I'm still screwed. Had to get a white-front iPhone 7+ (something I'd never do) at 12:06 the first day, and don't know how easy it would be to switch. My appointment is pretty late in the day so I don't know if they'll have anything else.

Got the email and was able to make a reservation this Friday 4pm for an AT&T 7+ Black 128GB. A couple questions for y'all though:

Does anyone know what happens if I don't show up on Friday? I may not be able to take the time off from work...

I wanted the Jet Black model, what are my options? I hear that upgrade members can change their mind and select from available stock... I don't mind waiting a few weeks, but just want to be sure I get in line now.

Yes, the additional stock seems to be only available to current IUP members w/o a reservation. I canceled mine, could see it all, made a new reservation and then it all disappeared again. However, I did this last night so I would try to find someone that can check your store for you first before you cancel. There were some members doing this for people in another thread on here.

I am a first time AUP member trying to join. I did choose my phone from Verizon to upgrade and it still says that. I never see the option to pick the state or the store just says Pickup is currently unavailable.

In case anyone was wondering - like others said jet black is not an available option. All other colors were available including Matte black however and in multiple sizes

I wanted a 128GB Black which the 3 stores in my area had nothing. I filled out the form specifying my desires, but as I kept looking and thought things out some more I just went for a 128GB Silver (currently have Silver). At least I'll have a new shiny on Friday and I'll try asking if any blacks somehow are available (doubtful)

CONFIRMED: I cancelled my old reservation and the Plus models available showed up as in stock. I had to change the store and time for my reservation, but I was able to get the model I initially wanted for a Friday pick up.

Thanks to MacRumors forums, yet again!

I got a reservation in this morning for a black 7 Plus 128gb at my store using the Apple Store app.

That along with my edition watch coming that same day is going to make for a great weekend!

Cancelled my 128GB 7+ Gold and went to reserve a new one, and only Rose Gold and Silver in 256 (or 32) were available. Beware.

This is for people who joined IUP last year and are trying to upgrade. We weren't even allowed to order and have it shipped. Our only option is to reserve in store and most reservations sold out within seconds.

Can confirm at 10:40AM EST in the Philly area that when I canceled my original reservation I was able to see all of the stock for 7+'s and was able to reserve a 128GB Matte Black for Sprint. All of the stores are showing all storage sizes and carriers as being in stock, but silvers are mostly out of stock. Silver was my original choice but the matte black is too sexy to be mad, I'm also still waiting on a call back from the IUP Specialist from my phone call the other night.

The stores I checked showing plenty of stock for 7+'s were the Christiana Mall in DE, Suburban Square in Ardmore PA and the King of Prussia mall in PA.
