Perhaps they could include some eyeglasses, given the amount of POV's missing that you can see out of the windows of Apple's own offices.

One would think, as a professional and ‘Cartographer’ as you claim, you wouldn’t insult Apple employees over a discussion Internet forum calling them ‘idiots’, but yet, share your direct experience through Apple Maps feedback link. That’s what a real professional would do, as Apple is open to suggestions and user feedback for improving.
I said I was a Cartographer, the rest is something of your imagination. You have no idea if and what I have submitted.

Providing Apple with Feedback is pointless, it just gets ignored. They are still just polishing the turd of 3rd rate data they originally purchased. It may have improved for the large metropolitan areas - especially in the US. However, for many regions they are still just using a duster, if lucky sprinkling glitter on it.

If Apple had employed the correct people from the start on this project, instead of trying to do this on the cheap, they would be further along. Whilst it may still be behind Google Maps it would certainly not be as far behind as it currently is. It took them almost a decade before they finally looked to employ qualified Cartographers.

All I want it so be able to exclude street names in voice feedback in non English speaking countries!
It's been a nightmare since the beginning and nothing has changed!
All I need is simple instructions where to turn! I don't give a damn about the name of every street in every place I visit when I'm on holiday! It's driving me crazy to hear all the nonsense, especially if the street name is long!

Tim Cook - I encourage you to travel to Poland and keep calm when your bloody Siri tells you to "turn left into Aleja Kardynała Wyszyńskiego street, and then turn right into Przyjaciół Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy street."

For me, it has gotten worse. If I ask Siri for directions to "home" it takes me to the same street address but one town over (Cheektowaga as opposed to Buffalo, which it somewhat understandably mis-pronounces). And worse, it takes contractors and service providers there as well. The address is correct in my contacts and other locations, and it worked perfectly for years until this revamp. It also sites the same incorrect city if I ask "What is the weather at home?" While I appreciate Apple's attempts to bring the Maps app into the 21st century, I wish they'd put my house back where it belongs.

Apple map is better than Google map on iPhone now. But hope it add offline map download.
How is it better?

..maaaaybee better in the USA only with all those lanes, 3D buildings things, etc., especially if you live in a big city. What about the rest of the world? ?

Not sure how others feel, but apple maps has gotten pretty good where I am. I even had a situation where I was trying to determine an address for work by clicking on the location and apple maps gave the correct address while google maps did not.
I have the rare issue with Maps directing me to turn left on a road where I can only turn right, but that's about it.
Loving Apple Maps.

Although I use Google maps on Mac/PC occasionally it’s usually as a second thought to check something.

I like how Apple Maps shows an address that I can copy paste into any other medium and the address is pasted NOT some proprietary link that only Google maps (app or browser to maps.Google.com) can use. I sincerely lithe that and considering Apples attention to detail usually falling secondary to their walled garden I’m shocked and happy.

Also I like in less than 1 yr Apple Maps allows me to view into an address property road way (like going around a business, hotel, condo, work shipping/receiving), yet GMaps cannot. Hmmm.

Meanwhile the contractors who review and rate the datasets used to improve it continue to get paid way less than minimum wage in the US.

Do you have current record of proof of this or an assumption? Again currently.

Meanwhile in Sweden... It's hard to keep a straight face hearing Siri in Swedish trying to pronounce street names. This is a deal breaker for me, and Apple are light years behind Google here.
Siri, in its native English, can't even pronounce street/suburb/city/state names in Australia... I'd love to hear an attempt at Swedish lol.

Well, it's at least not the English Siri trying to pronounce Swedish, but it's just so bad compared to Google in Swedish.

Sure, here ya go screenshot from the task page from a well known Apple contractor's site. $11 an hour as a self employed worker. Take out the extra self employment taxes and you're at $9.35. All in a state where minimum wage is $13.20-$15.00 depending on area.

That's a screenshot of simply 1 job posting.
no site.
unsure if site is globally reputable.
no listing of the recruiter or 3rd party contractor company - most likely this is.

This does not in any way prove your statement. Show us a site with a plethora of posts of the same price range and wether or not their from recruiters or 3rd party contractors.

Not even the DATE is shown on this.

FFS. It's Appen, one of the two contractors Apple uses, the other bring Telus International (previously known as Lionbridge). The screenshot is from the date I posted it and its for the mapping program which is what we are discussing. I am not posting one for all their Siri, Apple Music tasks. Take it or leave it. Point is they pay crap.

A brick wall or a no left turn intersection?
A fair question. I've only had no left turn intersections. not like the early days of apple maps when it would direct me to turn the wrong way on a one way street.

I am in the US, so i imagine it is better here than it is elsewhere. Its not perfect, but it is much improved and for the most part I don't have issues.
