I guess I can see his point, but Schiller should really concern himself with the downhill slide of Apple's Quality Assurance. Fewer grammar lessons and more software that "just works" please, Phil.

They've really lost control of the names... It has become so convoluted with so many iPad and iPhone variants. They should just market the phone as a single iPhone 6S, coming in three sizes S, M , L. Same with the iPad, something simple like that would make it so much easier.

No, it's their product. He was just stating a fact. There's nothing wrong with posting factually correct information. Are you some kind of Twitter cop who gets to decide what is ok to post???

Yeah I just graduated from the academy!

Nope, I'm just saying that he could have done it in such a better way and it made him look like a pretty crappy boss. I would never do that to one of my employees.

Well, that's stupid.

I'm going to continue to say "I have two Macs at home" and "my brother and I both have iPhones."

Why?

Because "I have two Mac at home" and "my brother and I both have iPhone" both sound incredibly stupid and caveman-like.

Also, "I have two Mac computers at home" and "my brother and I both have iPhone devices" are both outdated and inefficient ways of speaking.

Apple should focus on making good products again, rather than tell us how to speak.
I want a user-upgradable Mac Pro chassis (not the small trashcan crap), iPhones with USB-C, Thunderbolt 3 on all Macs, Skylake on all Macs, a 4K Thunderbolt display, and iMacs without soldered RAM. Apple, make it happen.

(See how I pluralized "Mac" and iPhone" there?)

Amen!!

Although I don't think iMacs have soldered RAM do they? I think the 27" is user upgradeable.

What do you think "Plus" denotes, then? :)

1. Revenue is on the decline,
2. market share of their cash cow - iPhone, is crumbling,
3. pro market is uncared-for.

And all these Cuppertino clowns do manage to come up with are: ugly watch bands and iDevices naming discussions...

Apple is doomed, now for sure. ;)

This is a talk any good IP attorney will give you. For a trademark to continue, it should only be used as an adjective.

To keep a trademark, a company should never use marks of trade in other parts of grammar for public communication. Using a trademarked term as a noun or a verb dilutes the value for the mark.

Trademarked terms such as Xerox and Kleenex have been compromised because this diluted use in ads and press releases.
Nice. My avatar may not look it but I have a degree in business. I appreciate the heck out of this small piece of knowledge that makes ever so much sense.

The problem is once the word is used in every day conversation it becomes difficult to argue to a judge that you OWN and deserve compensation for use of that word.

Kinda like to be cool, you gotta not care about being cool.

I actually appreciate if Apple's rise is going to stop and they have to care about delivering outstanding products again, because they realize that competition has cought up.

Oh that's just stupid. Especially if he's guilty of it too... From now on, I'm going to call them iPhones's and iPads's kinda like when I refer to my co-workers family as the Perkins's

Eat that Schiller.
This. Lets make a point of seeing this catch on more than his ******** just for the fun of it.

Gosh you rebel.

Pity no one on MR knows BASIC grammar.

Next they will be telling us to stop saying iTouch. LOL
Apple's Narcissism knows no boundaries. Their obsessive elitist posturing is both natural and a tribute to the late Steve Jobs.

Apple jumping the shark.
An old expression as irrelevant as Apple's current position in the smartphone wars. Only mainstream consumers think Apple is innovative.

Held in by globs of glue, approach at your own risk.

No, there is an access port on the back specifically to easily reach and replace the RAM. Do your research!

I know, I own one.

My mistake is I made a post in jest without an emoji

I stand corrected

Oh alright, I probably wouldn't have gotten the joke even with an emoji because most people don't know the differences in 21.5 vs. 27. You have SSD or Fusion? I'm considering getting one after the next refresh.

Phil's recent Tweets mention "iPads".

Edit: Hmmm... as do Tim's Tweets:

Edit 2: Thanks for the up votes guys :). Although, I now feel bad for pointing out these plural tweets.

It could be that he didn't mean plural at all, but instead doesn't understand how to use an apostrophe to make a contraction of "iPad is" ;-)

After just over two years of stellar service from the old one, I just setup a fresh new 27" Retina 5K P3 model. It's 3.3 GHz / 32GB / 2TB Fusion.

Besides actually doing resource demanding work to justify this model, it is nice to have the performance of this configuration.
