This is the futue iMac. They can fit in a 1.3GHz Haswell processor into it - it will have a lot of processing power. Such a device can completely replace my iMac.

Interesting. I wouldn't buy it, but I can certainly see it being of use to a lot of different people in various industries.

I would use this. I do a lot of video editing on location and while traveling for work.

With no 17" MBP now I've been considering switching to Windows. But a rMBP with a 13" iPad as a wireless external monitor that I can also use as a tablet to show clients their video would be an awesome system.

I've considered doing it with the existing iPad, but it's just that little bit too small to really be useful.

Plus, I could pack it down into the same laptop case giving me a completely mobile editing system that I can carry onto a plane.

I wonder how Samsung, with their size complex, will respond to this. 22 inches?

It's not Samsung -

Looking at that pic with it next to the Macbook Air, couldn't they add in a little more functionality to the iPad Mega, like make it usable as an extended display for the Macbook?

I've been using an ipad3 for displaying sheet music (download as pdf's and play with the ipad on the music rest). A maxipad would utterly rock at this... I would buy one straight away just for that job.

They should offer the iPad in three different sizes, all with TouchID.

But this is not enough to "please" the crowd, people expect something out of the ordinary from Apple this year, since Tim Cook said they would enter new categories this year. A 13" iPad is a nice addition, but not a "new" product capable of defending "new categories".

The old beaten rumors of iWatch and iTV are the only ones out there. I somehow hope they got something being on their hands, something we know nothing about.

Timing is everything, and nobody does timing as well as Apple. Give us one more thing Tim. :)

i want one, or a imac with a touch screen that swivels and tilts to lay on a table for art work

come one apple, you have the technology, why make ppl await all the time

Here is a Lenovo 27" tablet:

Construction workers aren't Apple's core market nor do they buy much in the way of technology.

I wouldn't be so quick to make that assumption if I were you. A overwhelming majority of people who go the gym in my local are as well as work construction have at least a smartphone and a computer. A large number are actually big gamers.

Of course they won't be as into pcs as more tech oriented people, which is why things like the ipad are actually what they'd buy, since it's so simple to use.

Just because some people don't like wimpy girly arms doesn't mean we don't like tech as well.

you know, i often wonder how many people say "7' is good size" and mean it, or its just a load of hog-wash, till the Bigger versions cone out..

Personally, i think the later...

Everyone said (well or everyone, but i got the feeling) that iPad 4 was too big for some, 7' was perfect, and now you guys actually want a 12' ?

Make up ya minds........ Maybe we all bow down to the "almighty Apple' because they feed us...

Its far too big to even hold. clamp it to a desk maybe, and don't take it out....

Heck,, you may as well get a Mac....

Only good thing about these big screens are movies, and photos.... But 12' is just one step away from a 13' MBA, so why not ? And its faster.

That will be a big hit if it will run a hybrid of MacOSX and iOS. Even better if it also allows MacOS Classic apps to run as well. A bluetooth keyboard and one has a laptop or desktop computer. Or leave the keyboard behind and it is a tablet. That is what I've been waiting for.

Personally I would prefer 15" but 13" will do.

This could be great. It could replace my 27" iMac. If it had a bigger screen. A keyboard. And a mouse. I definitely buy it. Especially if it was in Space Grey. Or had a champagne gold finished back. That nobody could see from the front.
By the way. I should add. Like most on here. I've got more money than sense.

Thanks!

I'm assuming you mean inches and not feet ;) But I agree, if you want a large-screen iPad, why not just get a Mac? As you pointed out, it becomes too big to use as a mobile device.
