Good to hear since I'm keeping my 256 iPhone 7+ as there are just way too may problems with this forthcoming version 8. MAYBE by next year they will finally be able to produce a GOOD iPhone that will be worth spending way too much money to get. Between the 50% charging and no touch control and a few other things, maybe they can figure it out and make a DECENT iPhone in the way that this current iPhone 8 OLED SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. Comes a time when buying a new iPhone every year just needs to stop, especially when they plan to raise the selling price WAY TOO HIGH!!!

Articles like these always get to me. Can we get the iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone edition or whatever they’re going to call this excessively expensive piece of glass first?? On top of that, I can’t help but to instinctively say, no don’t do it. Just the mention of iPhones looking more like galaxies disappoints me for some reason. Short of the walled garden ecosystem iOS/Apple is becoming more like Android.

Not really new news, this is more than obvious. They have to compete with the Note size. They didn't bother this year due to time constraints and the fact that the 7s series will make up for the other size option not available on the 8. This all leads right into what I have been saying for 8 months.. next year is the phone worth waiting for. Usually i'm all over the hype train on these things but the 8 really is a 1 off design sort of like Apple Watch 0.. then what you should have gotten this year will definitely be included next year. I get if people are upgrading from a 6 and older device.. time to upgrade. But if you're in the 6s/7 eras waiting 12 months will so be worth the wait.

Or about $2.75/day for a year. It's the cost of a cup of coffee a day.

Imagine if the only way Starbucks worked was that you'd pay $1000 for a coffee card where you could get 1 coffee a day for a year.

It doesn't work that way, neither does buying a phone. Most people pay in installments, so the price is not that high all at once.
Starbucks does not sell coffee though.

And this will be my next phone

There is no question Apple is going to offer two sizes

I wouldn't say that this is Apple competing with Samsung, but rather following the broad product line characteristic of offering multiple size models of each product category they have had for decades. I think the reason we're hearing about shifts in size is being driven by advancements in screen technology, allowing for larger screens in smaller bodies. That trend will continue as more models incorporate the new screens, resulting in a shake-up of overall device sizes as Apple and other manufacturers push the boundaries of what consumers are willing to buy at both ends of the size spectrum.

Iphone 8 will be the pinnacle of the Iphone. There will be no need to go "bigger" unless you want an Ipad mini. I don't see them redesigning this phone for another 3 years or coming out with a bigger screen. I wish Apple would concentrate on making CarPlay better and improving sound quality. That with improved cameras is all they need IMO.

It is that nonsensical thinking that gets people into credit problems and debt, if you can't pay for your toys in full wait till you can or do without.... the cycle will never stop, keep them new models coming with features and designs that make one think that they need it!!!

If it's gonna be this large, it needs to have a stylus (pencil) to be a Note competitor. I'd buy it day one (I ordered the Note 8).

Why stop at 6,5”, LOL? Let Apple & Samsung both race for the biggest phone on the planet, pushing those OLED monsters into a 10” territory. ;)

However, looking at the renders in the article and all the rumours, Samsung might have outdone Apple design-wise this time, which is incredible. The rumoured iPhone “ears” to the left and right of the speaker-camera grill just look out of place and imagine watching a movie with this screen layout in landscape mode. A solid black line at the top and bottom, akin to Samsung, would work much better, imo. Besides, the bottom black section can still accommodate some control functions, so it is not wasted.

These phones won’t have displays as big as the numbers make them seem. Remember that this year’s iPhone 8 really only has a full display size of 5.15”, despite the overall larger display, which extends both below and above the active display area.

If this new rumor is true, the displays will function the same way, with that larger display offering between a 5.5 and 5.8” active area. Bigger, but not dramatically so as these numbers make it seem.

actually, the bottom of Apple’s display, the part that’s not available to apps, will be a control area. The top is jusr for function info. I imagine that when viewing videos, the bottom area would be black while offering video controls, and the top will be black, offering battery life, time, etc. in reversed color. So, better than the way Samsung does it.

Apple warming up those copying machines again. Where are all those diehards that believe 3.5 inches was the perfect screen size? Lol if they introduce a stylus with that phone.

How long does Apple think our thumbs have become? Remember, the Galaxy Note has a stylus.

How many people actually do all their activities on their phones with just one hand? I don’t know anyone who does. I never did, even with my iPhone 3G. That’s a myth for most people, and those who do, can buy a smaller phone. Apple does make one for you.
