I've owned 4 different brands of wireless earbuds, and by far the best are the Jaybird X2s. Easily the best sound, small, good fit, water resistant, and on sale for Black Friday on some sites. The majority of respected tech site reviews favor the Jaybird X2s as well.Since this thread will be amazing soon, any suggestions for wireless earbuds?
Lol. That explains the Airpods trademark name or something. Ever since Tim Cook has taken ever, he has changed so many thing, usb-c MacBook, possibly this, and lightning cable, and MagSafe 2. What else! And here we GO. This surely will not end well.

Not to worry, you'll have 3 wonderful options:
1. $49.99 dongle
2. $149.99 apple bluetooth headphones
3. $299.99 beats wireless headphones
$$$ delicious accessories profits
Reminder that it's the 3.5 mm headphone jack that's the sole reason the iPhone is so thick.
That's really the only thing I would worry about if / when Apple switches to Lightning for everything.do you wanna charge? or do you wanna listen to Apple Music?
Why would an adapter like this cost more than the Lightning to Micro USB adapter?... and render all other headphones useless (unless you buy a $200 adapter from Apple). Thanks, Taylor.
If you do not want a thinner and lighter iPhone you are not parallel with Apple's thinking at all. The iPhone can be so much thinner and lighter and the battery on mine already lasts 2 days. And Apple is always first to remove unnecessary ports which is what a 3.5mm audio jack is. There will still be 2 other ways to get audio out of the phone and even if you spent a lot of money on expensive wired headphones, you should know that the best audio quality will come from a native lightning connection.Raise your hand if you are asking for even thinner phones with smaller battery. Seriously, what is with the obsession with thinness, even at the cost of removing the headphone jack?
The article does state that with a 3.5mm to Lightning adaptor, older headphones will be compatible.
Why have a headphone jack at all? Time to go wireless.
Total rubbish. In places where BT just won't work then listening to 'stuff' via wired headphones is the only way to go.Adapter sold separately for just $19.99.
Also, nobody needs to charge an iPhone and possibly use the audio jack as well!
Bluetooth has the same audio quality as 3.5.
