Great call. I am buying a T-Mobile plan as soon as my contract with ATT is up at the end of October! Unlocked iPhone. Cheaper Bills. No Contract. Yes.

It'll save you quite a bit. I pay $50 for unlimited everything. I'll be buying an unlocked iPhone as well.

Secrecy could be referring to in development products like the TV or stuff we cant even imagine yet. Or maybe he was referring to samsung stealing.

Its gotta be pretty difficult once the product is in production altho dont think we saw actual ipad 2 or 3 pics before they were out. The 2 had a leaked one with an ugly speaker grill a month before which was incorrect.

They don't get them because they are too similar.

Unless someone who worked in ives lab quit and leaked it or went to work for samsung.

I feel your pain, however the iMac mantra is not going to make :apple: release it anytime sooner.

Chances are it will have a silent release, nothing ground-breaking to look forward to.

If there is a redesign I'll actually consider purchasing one, but if it's a silent update, then probably not.

Something about all these "leaks and rumors" doesn't seem right.

We've had several supposed 'leaks' in the past month or so that seem to match up and now we're seeing actual dates for the announcement and release.

The thing is, Apple themselves have not mentioned nor confirmed anything.

Do you guys/gals think Apple would allow this many questionable sources leak their new design and not comment on it?

Do you all think as much ground this new 'date' rumor is gaining that Apple would not comment?

I guess not since they haven't in the past correct? Just seems funny that a company set on such secrecy and keeping everyone in the dark would not even comment disclaiming all we've seen.

Maybe they are controlled leaks.

Maybe everything we've seen/heard is true and they just don't care.

Ill laugh when it comes out with the weird stretched screen and all the moaners buy it anyway and say how amazing and innovative apple is.

It's not weird and stretched...it's just going from a 3:2 to a 16:9 aspect ratio like many Android handsets dude. Only looks "weird" and "stretched" because we've been used to 3:2 for 5 years.

Lol yeah it'll be like how Android users moaned about Siri being dumb and then were so excited about s voice!

Don't forget, we'll likely get a preview of the all new iTunes that's supposed to be coming this fall.

Features to cover: new processor, upgraded rear camera, new iSight HD (probably), NFC (probably), LTE (guaranteed), new 4-inch 16:9 display, new connector port (with optional Thunderbolt support?), and new iTunes.

Plus new iPod nano and new iPad mini? Big event. No chance they try to cram the iTV into it. I'm betting that will sit until January/February at the earliest, and when it does get revealed will probably get treated like all of Apple's other devices: introduced well in advance so App developers can get to work.

overall i m happy with the designs, and personally i dont want a gigantic phone, this looks way elegant than competition and i would opt for white one!

yeah looking forward to see what they ll do with ipods

hey itv is 2013 affair not anytime soon, its the device of future.

LTE and a bigger screen is all I need.

Same. I'm hoping that NFC comes along with a Passbook payment, but in the end, all I really "need" is a bigger screen and LTE. I would prefer 4.3", but 4" is still a nice increase over 3.5".

Although I would really like NFC too. Hell, just give me NFC, even if you don't plan on implementing a payment system yet, so that we don't have to wait until next year..

With ios 6.0 it seems like it would have to have NFC.

my next main issue is finding a carrier, i think im headed to sprint since they are the only ones left with unlimited data and such.

So apple is gonna announce in September and rerelease in October?? Maybe it's because of the new screen to give time for developers to get their apps ready for the longer screen?? Huh who knows??

The article says announce 12 Sept available 21 Sept which would make sense as that's a Friday, so it's not long to wait. Hope that's available everywhere and not just the US.

Don't think that is the case.

It does look like a 4/4S with a two-tone back and some minor changes. Sure when someone compares their 4/4S next to one, they'll notice the difference, but at first glance on the subway or at the mall, probably not. That wasn't the case two years ago.

I'm sure the UK, France, Germany will get it on the same day as the US (unless there's a shortage of units).

I think one will be able to notice, at least one who knows. Thinner. Taller.

I don't think so.
I have two reasons, 1. This will affect the sales of current quarter. Apple wouldn't want to do that. 2. Everybody knows something is coming, why have a controlled leak it now and give people to opportunity to see what it is. The ones that don't like it may go and buy an android right away.

You could be right but didn't Tim Cook just say in the recent earnings call that people waiting for the new iPhone was affecting their sales over the past quarter. I don't know the logic here. Apple seems to be leaking like a sieve at the moment. I would have thought they would want to clamp down on that to keep sales rolling in. Maybe they think people are going to wait anyway so we might as well stop them from buying something else by giving them a definite date that's not to far away. Don't buy that Samsung, wait and see what the new iPhone looks like first.
