Can we not start what is and is not real music now I personally don't like justin bieber but i do think he's not making music.... and Lady Gaga's sound may be dance pop oriented but the words and meaning to some of her songs are some of the most creative out there.....

however i do think that everyone would like to have the highest quality sounding music regardless of who the artist is.

Ooops, my bad... you're right Amnak!

Not the place or the moment about "taste" comments.... that's right.

As resumed, everyone would appreciate highest quality sounding... and that's the point :)

Does that include the $29 :apple: power adapter and $49 :apple: video cable?

I take that back. Al it takes is a power converter, the A4 chip, some flash, WIFI and standard 30-pin connecter to hook it up to USB and hopefully HDMI. No screen, no battery, no buttons. Should all fit into something the size of Apples new battery charger or smaller.

Can't imagine anyone owning an ipodpadphone that wouldn't want to hook that up to their big screen for $99

Do you think everyone will have to turn off their WiFi during the presentation? Even those watching at home. HAHAHAHA

Best Intro Song to Steve's Grand Announcement

Start placing bets on the opening music that will be playing.

Probably something by John Mayer.

The no-brainer choice has to be Sexy MF by Prince; everyone knows that there's nothing sexier in the tech world than Apple products! ;)

The opening funky baseline - and the first few salacious lines of the song - undoubtedly would get the audience's (not to mention the shareholders') collective attention!! The funky Apple guitar plays right into the effect of the song, too!

So do you think a new version of iTunes and what do you think the probability of 4.1 being released?

Hope the new iPod Touch gets FaceTime, then can have more people to FaceTime with!

I can't wait. I'm ready to order my iMac Touch on September 2nd.
Highly unlikely.

This is a music event. No Macs.

Besides, the iMac was updated less than a month ago. We aren't going to see new Macs next Wednesday. The only model that is due for a refresh is the MacBook Air, but I don't think they'd announce a new one at an event that has so closely been associated with music.

Frankly, I'm rather doubtful that we'll see a new Apple TV. That itself would probably merit an entire event which would be focused around television/movies.

For some reason I am reminded of the following:

Brent: I want some McNuggets!
Stewie: We'll get to you, Brent.
Wil: I'm wanna hamburger. No, a cheeseburger. I wanna hotdog, I wanna milk shake
Patrick: You'll get nothing and like it!

;) :D

ALAC isn't that good for 24 bits... but hey, even ALAC 16bits (or FLAC) would be better than AAC 256 kbits.

I don’t understand. Apple Lossless does support 24 bits, and what do you mean it’s “not that good” for it? It’s lossless. If all you mean is that its compression rate isn’t that good, it’d still be better than wav.

There could be more I don’t know, so fill me in if I’m wrong, but it sounds to me like there’s a misunderstanding here about the meaning of lossless.

This whole thing could be the size of a match box and could get its power from the HDMI port, which i believe can supply up to +5 V Power (max 50 mA). When plugged in, you wouldn't even know it existed

Landola

The guitar looks like a Landola to me.

Maybe not exactly the model in picture, but a Landola anyway.

The mac already has Quicktime X

I understand that, but the guy was making fun of another guy asking about a version of Quicktime X for Windows. The guy had pointed out that there was a Quicktime 7 for Windows, so the next natural step would be to implement the next version of Quicktime for Windows. Instead, he smarted off that it should be Quicktime 8 for Windows.

I was smarting off (back at him) by pointing out how there was no Quicktime 8 or 9 between Quicktime 7 and X in the Mac experience.

It's regarding compression rate (which is indeed better than Wav that has... none). It's regarding the format by itself.

I don't know if it's still accurate, but the last time I checked, there was a lot of issue to read ALAC 24 bits files... even with apps that's following the ALAC Decoding specs...

Like I said... I'm fine with ALAC as long it will "just work fine". AAC is working fine for me... as a compressed file format for mobile device. If ALAC works as well than AAC... it will be even better than I could hope then :)

Regarding the iTV, it might be the come back of Apple Pin Pin...

Does anyone knew about this Pin Pin??

Most likely Apple would provide A/V outputs for legacy devices: component video, composite video, RCA stereo. They'd probably include an Ethernet port for people who prefer wired networking. Thus, it is likely to be similar in width and height to the current Apple TV.

If they restrict it solely to people using HDMI-only connections and WiFi networking, they reduce the number of potential customers. I don't see it happening. There is little benefit to miniaturizing this device when it'll be used in a home theater environment.

Shame on me, I forgot Landola (I had one).... Thanks for the remind Bananas.

It's an excellent sounding guitar!

I pretty much expect those legacy ports. They might get packed in a little tighter to yield a smaller case, but I would guess they will be there.

Else, can you say "$39 Apple adapters" in lieu of a 30 cent hardware port?
