I can't wait! I've been waiting for so long to buy a new touch! It's even better now, since September 1st is my first day of school and I don't have to be there until around 12, so I can see most of the event before then.

I'll be getting a 4th Gen touch! :D

same for me but it prolly wont be on the site til later

What will happen with the Free iPod touch educational offer?! When the new ipods are otu!?

Well, obviously they will be presenting the iGuitar.

As far as speculation, though, I'm really hoping for:

-- 128gb Touch
-- cloud-based iTunes
-- subscription service, maybe? I have mixed feelings about that.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A400 Safari/6531.22.7)

I hope Apple keeps at least one model of iPod with a click wheel. I'd prefer if that was a nano. If you want an iPod for running or the gym, the Nano is the way to go.

I think Apple will not release a new Apple TV yet. I think this event will be new iPods and tv show rentals along with an iLife update (with a possible iWork update).

Why would they combine iTV and iPods? It would confuse their message. Do iPod event, then iTV and other events separately later for maximum impact.

Apple TV is pitched as "an iPod for your TV". It is lumped in with iPods in Apple's presentation of it.

Most importantly, launching it around this time is a fantastic way to get it on a lot of holiday wish lists. If it really does sell for only $99, it can be a fantastic gift for just about anyone without doing much damage to your wallet. I can foresee posts where people claim they bought 10 of them as gifts for friends & family.

So iLife has 5 apps, I think there were rumors of a 6th a few weeks back?

We might see iTunes X, iLife, new iPod Touch 4 and new iPod Nano. Thats all folks.

iTunes is still dependent on some Carbon frameworks and unless Apple is planning on a drastic update to the dev build of 10.6.5 I doubt we will see iTunes X.

Also the Apple TV is listed under the iPod line-up so a new Apple TV could be introduced at an iPod-centric keynote.

Makes sense. I think the two dots farther up on the neck represent the new iPod Touch and Nano and then the other two are the new Apple TV and maybe something else like iTunes X? Makes sense because they're related to iPods but aren't exactly iPods. I would say the new iPad but it wouldn't make sense to release a new one so close to the first.

great now i need to sell my 2g touch even faster... don't think i'll make it.. it's my fault we all knew it was coming :/

ugh dont remind me.... i have 8GB 1st gen and 8GB "3rd gen" or w/e u wanna say..... and im planning on getting iphone 4 or new ipod touch 4th gen... haha im screwed

I guess you're right, but the guitar seems to indicate that it will be music-focused. Maybe there will be just a brief iTV announcement (the way they originally unveiled it) but no actual demonstration.

I think the rumored iTV with iOS would steal the show--which would make a TV-like graphic more apropos...

But who the hell knows.

How long does it take for the iPods to hit stores after the annoucement...never really kept up with the iPod side of things since i got my iPhone but this update is pretty exciting

Look, the Guitar is obviously crippled, typical greedy Apple wanting to lock you in and then sell you the rest of the Guitar. It's way less customizable than an Android guitar, and it uses 50-year old technology too! Zero gigs of ram and no terabyte drive either. Jobs has lost it....and a glossy finish too!

(Just getting a head start on the whiners and haters posts the minute the event starts)

Now GarageBand for the iPad would be epic. Would go well with my new iMac coming on the Thursday with logic.

Hopefully iOS will be available for the iPad shortly as well
