This one will always be a special one as it was the last one released when Steve was alive. He died just a few days later.

A shame Siri was its legacy. Can’t help but feel if Steve was still around (gotta be an internet law for invoking this) Siri would have been completely rebranded ala iCloud by now. At this point it’s just embarrassing.
Yup, I remember. Siri wasn't bad when first released. The problem was that Siri was tanked and didn't quite evolved as expected and started to fall behind. Right now, Siri is catching up, but still has a long way to be what Steve envisioned.

Glad I got the 2nd generation iPad Pro 12.9. Hopefully I can eek out two more iOS releases before I decide to buy a new one. Either way, even when Apple stops providing iOS support, it’s not like it’s gonna stop working. I remember so many users with the iPad 2 for years after support ended. I found an iPad non retina at work, but it’s locked. Surprised how recent it was still being used, but it’s mega slow.

The Apple TV HD is going vintage because all the apps will be deleted soon because developers haven’t update apps in 6 years.

My HD is going strong. Just applied 15.5.1 update.

I still use my iPhone 4S, by the way. For my relatively modest requirements, it still works flawlessly. It doesn't have a single scratch, and it looks like it just came from the factory. Even the battery doesn't show any signs of age yet. :)
Still using my iPhone 4S for alarm clock and can make calls using Line2 and TextNow. iCloud Drive is still working for Pages.
Downgraded to iOS 8 by reinstalled iOS 6 and then updated to 8.4.1.
I think Apple is still signing iOS 6?

We use an old iPhone as an alarm clock. On our third one now. Leaving them plugged in to a dock 24/7 eventually causes the battery to bulge.

The first 12.9” Pro doesn’t get enough credit for what a revolutionary device it was.

Hasn’t 3G been phased out?
Yes, you are right. My Dutch provider stopped offering 3G on March 31, 2022. However, I did receive a new SIM card with the latest security updates free of charge. So since March 31, 2022, I can only make calls and/or use the internet via their older 2G network. With calls, I don't notice much of this, but the internet speed seems to be lower than I was used to. You can't use 2G to make calls and surf the web at the same time, either. Also, you can not stream music and movies or use navigation. If I wanted to use mobile internet to the fullest, I would have to buy a device suitable for 4G. However, I don't need that on my cell phone. I use my iPhone mainly for calling, texting and checking my email on the go. For everything else, I use my iMac (or my laptop). As long as I only call or text with my device, I don't need to buy a new one. And that's a nice thought in these times. That's sustainability in practice.

Why not use iOS 9.3.6? After all, that was the last possible operating system for the iPhone 4S.

Or, they haven't made any Apple TV HDs for years as no one has been buying the lingering stock so they are dumping their inventory to resellers and removing from Apple website.

I think they'd love to get rid of the A8 CPU, the A10 in the 1st generation 4k was not the best choice either.
The ATV4K1 had an A10X, not the A10.

Not sure what you mean by it not being the best choice, but for performance, it is on par, if not better for games, than the A12 that replaced it.

If you mean by "not the best choice" due to it being the only A10X device in the current line up for a long time, until it was replaced by the ATV4K2, then that is understandable.

Wow, the 4S into the obsolete list. Time has flown by.

It has indeed. Makes you wonder where the time has gone… doesn’t seem five minutes since I used to ask Siri to help me hide a body! Unfortunately we don’t have metal foundries nearby where I live ?

Typo for the Apple TV HD. It either is referring to the previous model, or maybe that horrific original remote itself.
