I've used Windows daily since the 1990s and, honestly, haven't faced a single BSOD in the last 10 years or so, whether at home or at work. It used to be a rather frequent issue prior to Windows XP (2001), but not anymore unless you're into weird tweaks and suspicious downloads.
Whether intentionally or not, Apple still often portrays Windows as the unstable system it was last century, when it's basically just as reliable as macOS these days. The fact that this rivalry spirit continues at Apple, 28 years after Steve Jobs said he was done with it, betrays a sense of frustration, if not desperation. As I always say, if macOS were that much better than Windows, it would have surpassed it in sales by now and Apple wouldn't have to resort to such schoolyard tactics.
macOS has had its own bugs and problems throughout the years, some of them frustrating even Apple enthusiasts. And there are still (too) many things Mac can't do. Maybe Apple should look at itself in the mirror before mocking its competitors.

Back in the days they were making fun of Microsoft and they had funny Mac vs pc ads, but they were really in the position to make fun of others. They had by far the best operating system, with macOS tiger and leopard and then snow leopard they were in a league of their own.

But now? Don’t they see the state of their software?

It’s like an obese person was making fun of an athletic body.
Someone needs to slap them back to reality, seriously.

Windows is as unstable now as it was back then. I found it mostly due to drivers not playing nice with Windows.

Aye. MacOS has become as unstable as Windows.😅😅 I miss the svelte, reliable MacOS of years past; the Big Cat OS was extremely stable. Today's MacOS is as stable as a drunken Irishman.🙃

Wow. I thought this was going to be a one-minute ad, but it's over eight minutes, though after a minute and half, I skimmed through the rest of it hoping for a change of pace, but nope. I felt like I was being punched in the gut and smacked in the head the whole time. Too much yelling, fear, quick edits, and bad jokes.

Yeah … mocking competitors is just not a good look for big, powerful companies. In my book, it only ever works for underdogs (reference not intended) and Apple is absolutely the opposite of that.

The John Hodgman campaign was probably the last time that made sense for Apple. (I guess the 1984 commercial was the first one.)

I agree, but Apple could still be considered the underdog when it comes to desktop operating systems. macOS global marketshare is still tiny compared to Windows. The only place macOS is dominant is in silicon valley/tech companies that issue macs to their devs. Quite literally the rest of the world runs on Windows, so in this case the ad works.

I hope this nonsense of slamming each others products stops in the Advertising world.
This is a low blow and doesnt show any one who is better than the other.
Not funny at all and very distasteful. Shame on them.

I've seen few BSOD since Windows 7, mostly related to a device driver or an unexpected software update. I think I've seen more BSODs on the McDonald's drive-thru screen the past ten years than on a Windows PC truth be told...

This video probably would have been better and more cost-effective as a security white paper.

Did not see it yet. But think it will be interesting considering the ‘Underdogs’ every year is a fun video. Will see it soon.

outdated already
its black screen of death now
I remember last year, with the Crowdstrike outage, that all the PC's in my Hospital, went to the blue screen of death. Windows 11 maybe here, but most Multi Nationals don't upgrade quickly. Not unusual to be on the previous OS still.
It's cool. Totally Apple with a lot of funny moments.
Too many sad ones frequent here, not living in the moment, getting angst about everything. It demonstrated many things that Apple does well, and how it can be used in the corporate world, and highlighted the one issue that frequents pc's, and that's all the viruses, malware and conflicting software/firmware issues.
Hmm. Maybe I’m just too old to notice the humour.
Or possibly too young.
Me, it's funny and entertaining!
I think it was cute, hilarious at times, and to the point. Although I did wonder what they were doing with the Mac they gave them, and how they got them running there things on it.

Agree, its "humorous" when Apple do it but "not classy" "pathetic" if any other brand does it. I love the echo chamber here sometimes.

Oh I'm alone out in the cold here. I thought it was funny.

I know people say Apple are too big to do attacks like this but Google does them to Apple all the time. I'm sure Microsoft would take part if they had something worth bragging about 😂.
