Apple is actually planning for several Apple One bundle tiers. A basic package is expected to offer Apple Music and Apple TV+, while a second tier will also include Apple Arcade. A third bundle tier will include all of the aforementioned services along with Apple News+.

There will also be a higher-end tier that includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and iCloud storage, and there may also be a new fitness-oriented service that offers virtual fitness classes.

There is no word on bundle pricing yet, but the bundles are expected to offer savings over purchasing each subscription service separately. Bundle pricing could save customers from $2 to more than $5 a month depending on the bundle.
Translating into a table:

BasicSecondThirdHigher-End
Apple ArcadeYesYesYes
Apple MusicYesYesYesYes
Apple News+YesYes
Apple TV+YesYesYesYes
iCloudYes

My speculations:
  • Basic will be $2 cheaper, or $12.99, same as Netflix Standard.
  • Second will be $4 cheaper, or $15.99, same as Netflix Premium.
  • Third will be $6 cheaper, or $23.99.
  • These 3 tiers include standard Apple Music individual plan. Apple Music family plan can be added for $5 more, $4 if Apple is feeling generous.
  • Higher-End will include Apple Music family and 200GB iCloud plans,. It will be discounted by $8, or $29.99. 2TB iCloud can be added for $7 more, $5 if Apple is feeling generous.

An iPhone and service subscription would be great. iPhone and Apple Music and AppleCare for one rate.
The problem is they won't bundle services that are already popular. Why would they? Why give a discount for something people are buying anyway without a discount?

Instead, bundles are for trying to get people to buy something they aren't already buying. So the bundle will always include 1 or 2 things that are unpopular, bundled with a thing that is very popular.

So the Music + TV + News makes sense. The latter two aren't super popular, but the former is very popular. There is an opportunity to upsell all the Music subscribers to the other two services that aren't selling well.

Currently subscribe to Apple Music (pay annually) and am on a free year for Apple TV+ (and might continue depending on content). Did a trial of News+ and have no interest in for paying it, so it would really depend on bundle options and pricing whether I would jump on board.

Swap out the News for Apple Arcade and I'd get it.
Apple Music and Apple Arcade would be sweet

Exactly. The point is to put the most popular item (iCloud Storage) after everything. It sucks, but it's the best way for Apple to extract the most amount of money from the bundle.

It would be nice to be able to exclude apple news from the bundle.

How much does everyone think the base tier of Apple Music and Apple TV+ will be?

I don't know but hopefully the same price as a subscription to Apple Music since ATV+ adds too little value.

If Apple wants to bundle their stupid music subcription service with Apple TV plus at a higher rate than I'm paying for Apple TV plus on a standalone basis, I'm out. I'm not interested in subscription music service. I have my own music collection that's paid for.

I also have my own music and feel no need for an Music subscription, but I recognize it is very popular and most of my friends have it. The only service I use from Apple is iCloud and that is just because I use it to back up my iPhone and iPad to it because when it comes to features and value it does poorly compared to other cloud services like OneDrive, Box or Google Drive.

I need to re-examine my Apple services. I'm still using iTunes Match at $24.99/year which seems ridiculous as I have a 256 GB iPhone 11 Pro and rarely need to download music on the go especially with an Apple Music Subscription. The Apple Music Subscription was free for 3 months and I swore I would cancel it as I didn't like "renting" music, then ended up liking it. My one year of Apple TV+ will end in November. Then $.99 for 50 GB of iCloud storage - which would be great if Apple tied that into a subscription bundle.

Monthly I'll be paying:

$4.99 Apple TV+
$9.99 Apple Music Subscription

$14.98/month

I wonder if Apple News+ packaged in would lower my monthly as a means to entice individuals such as myself who don't use Apple News+ yet I doubt it. It'll be interesting to see what Apple releases as I know a lot of people such as myself who only use 2 media services.

A couple of questions:

- Family Sharing: My partner has the exact services which means we're paying double. Would enabling family sharing interfere with our private music/apps/news/etc or is there a way to keep your media separate? I researched it a few months ago and it seemed Family Sharing allowed family/partners/etc to simply cut expenses by sharing services and even apps while allowing each person to fine tune what is shared between individuals for privacy and maintaining personal libraries.
- Apple Music Subscription and iTunes Match: I'm considering cancelling iTunes Match as I rarely download music that isn't already on my mobile devices and the two services seem to overlap each other. Am I correct in that assertation?
- I purchased a MacBook Pro in February. As Apple TV+ is free for one year with a purchase of an iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc, would that "reset" my free year to February of 2021 or is the free year a one time deal? I'm assuming it's a one time deal as people could get a free year anytime they updated their iPhones or bought a new Mac.

I bet we'll hear more next week when Apple Announces what ever it announces.

And in my household, there is at least one new Apple iPad, iPhone, Apple TV or Mac purchased every 12 months, so Apple TV+ will be consistently free.

As far as I know, the free year is a one-time/Apple ID deal, so you can't have Apple TV+ free ad vitam aeternam
