I believe it’s often for the massive magazine catalog that comes with it. I’ve heard it covers most any topic one would want a magazine for. To be fair, I’m not a subscriber, so it’s very possible that I’ve created an exaggerated picture here.

Even if you only read the Wall Street Journal and one or two other publications, you'd already be coming out ahead with News+ vs. individual subscriptions. The New Yorker alone costs $100/year for a digital subscription. It's not at all hard to make the math work if you read much.

The problem is they won't bundle services that are already popular. Why would they? Why give a discount for something people are buying anyway without a discount?

Instead, bundles are for trying to get people to buy something they aren't already buying. So the bundle will always include 1 or 2 things that are unpopular, bundled with a thing that is very popular.

So the Music + TV + News makes sense. The latter two aren't super popular, but the former is very popular. There is an opportunity to upsell all the Music subscribers to the other two services that aren't selling well.

Ummmm. To attract the people who aren't buying it?

And why do people keep alleging that TV and News aren't selling well? Did I miss an official press release from Apple? What does not selling well even mean? That only 150 million of the 1.7 billion iOS users on the planet subscribe to one of the two?

Whatever.

Nope. Apple has to push a not-very-much-used product somehow 😂

Seriously, though, at some point ALL the news sites online will have paywalls and then Apple News might seem like a good idea. I just looked at WSJ and a digital access only is $19.50 a month  I can't remember but doesn't Apple News only have "some" of the articles and not ALL?

There is a Chrome/Firefox plug-in called "Bypass Paywalls" available on Github. You can read almost all mainstream news site with a paywall for free.

Music is great - the future I always wanted. Millions of songs a moment's notice away. Google Play and Spotify are equally great.
Apple TV is awful and not worth anything at all. It's a symptom of how bad things are since the demise of the video store. Streaming's a great solution but content is an ever-growing problem split across potentially dozens of services.
News+ is a model that I can see no benefit in.

Bundle hardware, bundle iCloud but this bundle is useless.

- Family Sharing: My partner has the exact services which means we're paying double. Would enabling family sharing interfere with our private music/apps/news/etc or is there a way to keep your media separate? I researched it a few months ago and it seemed Family Sharing allowed family/partners/etc to simply cut expenses by sharing services and even apps while allowing each person to fine tune what is shared between individuals for privacy and maintaining personal libraries.
- Apple Music Subscription and iTunes Match: I'm considering cancelling iTunes Match as I rarely download music that isn't already on my mobile devices and the two services seem to overlap each other. Am I correct in that assertation?

1. you have it exactly right. Why pay double when you can pay one time for your whole family.
2. Yes, the 2 services are overlapped. With Apple Music you can upload your existing library to the cloud and listen to it anywhere, just like iTunes Match.

The name seems like a bit of a faux pas though, right?

Google One is already a thing, do Apple really want to follow a naming convention that tells you precisely nothing about the product in question?

Apple is rumored to be working on a subscription services bundle called "Apple One," which could see a launch in the near future, according to code found in the Android version of Apple Music by 9to5Google.

Apple-Services-Bundle.jpg

Signs of an "Apple One" bundle were found in the 3.4.0 beta of Apple Music for Android, confirming that Apple Music will be one component of the services bundle. From the Android app code: There is wording that indicates customers who upgrade to Apple One will not be double charged for Apple Music, and that the Apple One subscription will be able to be managed on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.

No other information about the Apple One service was located in the Android version of Apple Music, but the original rumor, from Bloomberg, suggested that the bundled service is set to launch in October, likely alongside the iPhone.

Apple is actually planning for several Apple One bundle tiers. A basic package is expected to offer Apple Music and Apple TV+, while a second tier will also include Apple Arcade. A third bundle tier will include all of the aforementioned services along with Apple News+.

There will also be a higher-end tier that includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and iCloud storage, and there may also be a new fitness-oriented service that offers virtual fitness classes.

There is no word on bundle pricing yet, but the bundles are expected to offer savings over purchasing each subscription service separately. Bundle pricing could save customers from $2 to more than $5 a month depending on the bundle.

I subscribed to both without realising too. However, I realised that my library was completely mucked up after I stopped subscribing to Apple Music (even though I resubscribed to iTunes Match before ending my music subscription). My library was such a mess, with tracks I owned marked as DRM, missing tracks and numerous errors, that I had to start over from backups. While I might be tempted by a combined subscription at some point, I would rather keep my personal library and my subscribed music service separate to avoid library issues.

Just don’t let Apple Music scan your entire library and you will have no issue. If you want to upload some albums to the cloud, do it individually.

If you look at the plans on Apple web site it states this :"60 million songs, plus your existing music library". I can see where this might be missed that it includes iTunes Match. But I did see it said elsewhere so that's why I knew it.

Yep. Apple Music are both music subscription service AND your own library. You can upload any of your music to the cloud whether it’s rare to find album, bootleggings, mixed tapes, rare concerts etc. this is where Apple Music Trump Spotify.

I subscribe to all 4, TV+, News+, Music, Arcade. How much cheaper will the bundle be? $10/month

When will News+ magazines fill the TV screen when I mirror my iPhone to my TV?

Arcade needs more games for the 18+ crowd. The games I have play pretty good when I mirror my iPhone to my TV. Perhaps when a game mirrors through Apple TV the screen on the iPhone could change to large controls.

Playing on Apple TV you should use game controller if you have one. The Apple TV supports it. Apple Arcade supports it.

If it was Apple Music + Apple TV + Apple Arcade + 200GB iCloud storage for $15 I'd be instantly sold.

I will be sold too. Currently I am subscribing iCloud Storage at $2.99. I will be sold as long as the bundle include Apple Music and Family iCloud Storage at $10.00

Currently paying £17.50 for my apple services for the family, so there had be a good incentive for me to bundle.

I tried News+ on a whim and I really like it. It has become a daily ritual for me to scan the news feeds including my local major newspaper. Evenings I eschew tv for an hour and listen to music while browsing my favorite magazines. And yes, the magazine selection is huge including Time, Nat Geo, plus many specific interest mags. Yes, you can get a lot of the content on line but I am old school and getting a regular monthly collection from these various sources aka a magazine is a nice thing.

You already pay for what you want so bundling is a way of getting you to pay for things you’re not fussed for under the guise you’re getting a good deal.

we’re on family plan Apple Music and the biggest cloud package so that’s £15 plus £7

Other stuff not paid for : arcade £5, TV £5 and news £10

so the way to sucker me in would be to offer those for £10 (ie half price stuff I decided I didn’t need)

that adds up to £32.

that’s not a round number, so my guess is they’ll knock £2 off and call it £30 the lot.

Even though I don’t play games much, watch/read the news less than ever and watch TV less than previous I will of course be that sucker and I will pay.

They had one year to find a way to keep subscribers after all the free recipients dropped off… this is the best they could come up with?

I use apple music on android and the app is so much better than in the early days. Works pretty well now.

I wonder if they will have a different deal for international users? Apple News hasn’t really spread to many countries...

Do you have some facts to back up your statement or is this just based on an informal poll of your friends?
Ooooooh you got me. ⭐ nice one. 😂

Relax, it's an opinion based on my perception that is shared by others (according to this thread), and it was turned into a light joke (which was highlighted by the fact that the next thing I typed was "Seriously, though".

I'm sorry your products aren't selling well, though 😂

I didn't know iTunes Match is included in Apple Music, otherwise I wouldn't pay for both. And this has nothing to do with being charitable, it's about not making it at all clear that I'm paying extra for something that is already included in something I have.
Actually I wasn’t trying to suggest that iTunes music included match but that if you had an iTunes music subscription why would you need iTunes Match? Ideally Apple would cancel the Match service but they’re not a charity so caveat emptor...

I had an iTunes Match subscription before I had an Apple Music subscription. I am not sure why you mention charity, I am not asking Apple to give me something for free. I am saying as iTunes Match is incorporated into Apple Music, I should have been made aware of this when I started my subscription to Apple Music.
