Would you all like a little cheese with that whine?

Waaaa - iTunes cell phone is stupid
Waaaa - I want a video iPod
Waaaa - I'm tired of iPods

You left off Apple commercials, G5 powerbook, immediate Intel switch, iTunes video store, and a free G5 for everyone who has owned a mac for more than 5 years. Apple OWES us after all. ;)

Am I the only one who thinks that the iTunes Music Store needs to be upgraded a little? iTunes 5 would be sweet if Apple launched a new version of the store. And adding other stuff would be cool too I guess.
I think the iTMS needs a huge upgrade...Apple is shooting themselves in the foot but not competing with Napster and the Yahoo music service (which I have a subcription to, and cannot use with my iPod...GRRR)

While I don't really see a need for a subscription service just now, options are always good.

It is good however to see that Apple and Sony are finally in talks to get Sony music onto the iTMS, that'd be a definite good thing for all iTMS users and maybe it would allow the Australian iTMS (it's there alright, just needs the switch flicked) to finally go ahead.

I'm hoping it'll be part of the 7th Sep announcement, maybe a push into the SE Asia/South Pacific region who knows? All I know is that Aussies and Kiwis were once able to sign onto the iTMS, I even bought a song. CMon Apple....

weel there's got to be some sort of itunes/itms update, as there always is then the store doesn't get updated tuesday morning.

At least we are within 24 hours of knowing for sure. It's getting exciting.

Folders?

agentkow said:
Obviously the most revolutionary and biggest possible announcement would be the addition of folders to iTunes.

I would rent out Moscone Center just to tell the world about it...

Instead of waiting for iTunes to incorporate folders, you could go out and buy a PC, and spend all day moving files from folder to another, or get a life.

A much better diss would have been: "FORGET ALL YOUR FOLDER WHINING AND TAKE UP ORIGAMI".

anyone seen this?

I seriously hope that's not the Video iPod. If they're going to do it, make it widescreen and shrink the controls. That just looks like they turned on the video component of an iPod photo. I think it'll be cooler than that.

Thats's appalingly done, I think i could do a better photoshop myself. the naff movie store, the way the ipod is cut off at the bottom, it'd be a pixar movie on the ipod screen etc etc

3 major errors.

1. Button in the center is way too large
2. Apple will not pander to fan hype, EVAR!!! "It's here. Already" Not Apple like.
3. The bottom of the iPod on the front page is cut off, Apple will do a full 2/3 or all.

Close, but not quite.

IPOD-V is now certain

With magazines even preparing to give video ipods away as prizes the world is bracing for the latest apple product. IPOD video is will compete directly with PSP and other mp4 playing devices retailing for $380 (30gb), offering at first downloads of mainly music videos and short media clips expanding in time like itunes. Expect a design simmilar to this .......

Further evidence (if needed) can be shown by apples boyant share price the arket is expecting something big tommorow, this would explain the huge volumes of apple shares being traded today. http://www.macdailynews.com/index.p...es_hit_all_time_high_amid_broad_tech_selloff/

are we getting live updates or anything?

i guess nobody knows if there'll be wifi. will just have to wait till the events over i guess!

Final comments before the event:

I don't expect a video iPod...I WANT one to be there, but I would not be surprised if it doesn't appear. As for the phone...I will not be impressed if it is anything that we've already deen (e398, ROKR, whatever). However if it is a newly designed phone entirely, I think we're in business. Bring on an APPLE phone and Flash-minis with color screens.....

.........with a glint of hope for video!!!

An iTunes phone would not be a big deal to me. I wouldn't bother to invest in one either, I mean how many songs would it carry and how long would you be able to listen to the music? The battery on that phone would have to be ground breaking in itself. Let's face it currently battery life on mobile phones, if you were to talk constantly on it let alone be listening to music, are short anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an announcement about an iTunes capable phone actually, when you consider the above it's really not that big of a deal. Download music from iTunes directly to your Moto phone for continuous hour long listening before the battery runs dry

A video iPod is a big deal in comparison so seems unlikely considering there will be no keynote.

iTMS has been updated

The iTMS has nowbeen updated- before the Media event. Wasn't it Labour day holiday on monday in the US- could this have been the reason for the delay? I'm thinking there may be no big iTMS update today but just the phone :(

What are everyone's thoughts on the info maccrazy.net has posted here? I think they may be a bit off with the video iPod, but then again I don't think a Motorola phone is really enough considering the hype around this event. Also interesting is the fact they think the phone will reflect Apple more than Motorola...

I guess we will just have to wait and see. Only hours remain. :p

in terms of hardware, I think we'll just see the phone. I can't really see a software release..but maybe some itms related announcments.

Maybe, but the Canadian Apple store is listing some odd ship times for iPod product - I can't say if it's normal or not since I don't often look at the Canadian store, but I would guess 5-7 business days (for 60GB and both minis, all colors) is not the usual.

Blown-out ship times on the mini would fit with all the rumors of a new flash-based mini, but the 60GB?

The reason we know that picture is fake is because whoever the nerd is who would take the time to photoshop something like that would never have 2 emails in their inbox...
