Great that Android users can now enjoy the best music service on the planet. But I really want that Sonos integration update to come. I hope it doesn't slip into next year. There's been no beta testing yet on the Sonos beta program.

That's the one reason why I haven't signed up for the free 3 month trial yet. I'm waiting for the service to work with Sonos. :)

I wonder whether it is nicer and runs better than Music on iOS 9.

On non-standardised hardware, and a fragmented platform that they've openly laughed about during so many keynotes? Not likely.

They can't even get a vaguely streamlined experience on their own hardware. God forbid they'd get anywhere on Android.

I know they won't but people should like this option. The application looks good and works as well on Android so far. I am used to the layout of the application so that helps a lot but basically it feels like iOS. One thing I will say though is the bottom of the app is better looking with just the mini player versus mini player and menu selections. With the Android app the menu options (for you, music, etc) are on a button in the top right. This is a little nicer to me.

Last I knew, Apple forbids apps from being numbered below 1.0 on their App Stores. Interesting that they don't follow their own App Store rules when posting to App Stores run by other companies.
Not true at all. I've had multiple apps launch with version numbers below 1.0. I don't think they care about the version number (as long as it increases with each update). You cannot use the word "beta" in the title, description, or metadata though, or they'll reject it.

I vaguely remember that Apple purchased Move to iOS and that Apple Music was written by a company they contracted. They didn't develop these apps themselves. If the app runs smoothly and integrates with Android's design conventions, it might actually be not that bad.

I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up! Ironically it could be better than it is on iOS. Wouldn't that be something.

And that's the joke. This is why I refuse to buy anything that requires iBook or whatever the hell it's now called.
What irritates me is that I _Trusted Apple_ bought some iBooks...
Only to have them disappear, much to my disbelief just one week after the purchase.
When speaking to Apple I learned it was all MY FAULT! They were right!
I failed to read the terms of service close enough. They have the right to pull content at their discretion.

So Eddy Cue wants us to be able to listen to music no matter where we are and what product we use.

Can I read my iBooks on a Kindle or non-Apple product? No, because they have DRM.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Eddy Cue.
I can't read kindle books in whatever app I want either. I wonder if it's to actually protect the owners of the ip.

And while they openly call this a beta of course, always remember this double standard:

They don't allow beta software in their own App Store. (the publicly visible "store front" that is, save for betas via invitation and profiles)

It's not really a double standard since I cannot download this app from Apple's app store. But it is assuming Android users are used to beta quality software which is funny because it's true.

That applies to all content from every online store in existence unless you download a copy that is not DRM protected.
