Got that notification a few hours ago. Been listening too. That's one reasonably big piece of Apple exclusive content that isn't anymore.
Exclusive to Apple in what way? Were Google Play music users unable to stream paid AC/DC music? Leo Laporte says he uses Google Play music to listen to his paid Beatles collection.

That doesn't make any sense. Does that mean Android users won't get a free trial since it's not coming to Android until this fall? No. It's 3 months from when you sign up. Here's the footnote from Apple's website: "Requires initial sign up. At the end of the trial period, the membership will automatically renew and payment method will be charged on a monthly basis until auto-renewal is turned off in account settings." This means your trial doesn't start until you sign up.

Trial starts when you decide to activate.

AC/DC was exclusive to Apple if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure it wasn't available in Google Play because I searched for it like 10 times.

As far as I was aware iTunes was the only place you could legally source their music digitally without having to buy it on CD, rip it and upload it. That's a form of exclusivity I guess. Happy to be corrected because I have zero experience with Google Music.

Eh? Just find out what time it's out in your time zone (4pm in the UK, that's where I am) and keep refreshing that software update button on your phone!!

I'd prefer if everyone just post here. It's easier that way. Thanks!

Anybody else considering starting with a fresh library?

I've built my iTunes library of 8,000 songs over more than a decade but a lot of it is stuff I only listened to once (or never!). Rebuilding a library from scratch gives me an opportunity to rediscover what I really like.

Exclusive to Apple what? iTunes Radio? iTunes Match?

No, I am saying if different services offer different exclusives based upon popular artists (Godsmack on Spotify, Metallica on Pandora, or Pantera on Apple Music), then those people may get frustrated and just download it on torrents to get the "exclusive". Especially if those streaming companies ever decide to offer exclusive music on paid tiers only.

Of course any exclusives are going to be released on paid tiers only. They have to make up for it somehow. Also consider that everyone but Apple is operating on a loss... there is no such thing as free lunch.

No way! My library is full of my favourite albums and artists.
