It must depend on the DAC, I just went from Crowded House @24/44.1 to Eagles (Hotel California) @24/192 on iPhone 11 Pro Max -> Matrix mini-i Pro 3.It doesn't, I'm afraid.

No. You need a DAC.does lossless audio work with standard wired lightning headphones?
Wow thank you!!! I just got it to trigger to show up! Apple support didn’t know what to do! This must be a bug!For those playing with music settings and loosing it over and over again (me)… it’s not so much toggeling cellular data, it’s the automatic download that re-enables the settings to magically appear.
I’m not doing anything crazy as to in house testing yet - just trying to accomplish reliability through wireless lossless… can’t wait for real testing amongst my audiofiles to give us a true Thor hammer of knowledge. But oh my the possibilities!!!!
I might finally get my brother to convert! (After I steal back that HomePod I gifted him for Christmas because I need that space gray beauty for that awkward 7th room… first offer is the stupid Amazon thing I got with my Iota security system….last offer is my first born son)
Not so sure on this. Many Lightning headphones have great DACs built in e.g. Audeze Sine / iSine. I will try mine later, enjoying my Matrix / LCD-2Cs ATMNo. You need a DAC.
Yes, haven’t been impressed overall. Back when initially launched I was impressed with Metallica’s S&M2 concert film, but haven’t seen much like that in actual Atmos Apple Music track. Even the audio version of S&M2 is not supported. Might be just that the generic effect for iTunes 5.1 films is just more obvious while this one is more subtle to preserve closer do the original mixThe effect is quite subtle, especially for the Top-40 crap.
Strongest effect so far out of the spatial audio playlist i had with "Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express"
I just listened to Styx Renegade and I liked it better with spatial audio off. But The Jackson 5’s I Want You back sounded way better with spatial audio. I wish there was a way to tell Apple Music which you prefer so it would turn off spatial audio on tracks where you don’t want It.Santeria - Sublime - those vocals - NICE
Weezer - Buddy Holly - noooooo, sounds awful
You just need to toggle it on and off and it worksAutomatic Downloads needs to be switched on
I would think it is a generic description though since it says "up to"?

Would be great if it shows actual bit rate of that specific album but I don't think that is the case.
This worked for me.I found that turning Sync Library off for a few seconds then on triggered the update.
One thing I’ve noticed straight away is singles on pre-release albums are not available in lossless yet
Good tip! 👍It does show you the rate of the specific album/song if you click on the "Lossless" logo here:
This worked, then lossless settings disappeared for me again…idk what to doI found that turning Sync Library off for a few seconds then on triggered the update.

You can listen to the files. But they’re being compressed anyway during playback - just a waste of space.I noticed I have lossless with AirPods
