Really stupid question, but will my Sony XM3 headphones be compatible with spatial audio for music from my phone or do I need to throw some money at Apple headphones?

:apple:
I found the song, and toggling spatial audio on/off on my Airpods Pro Max isn't making a difference, for me at least. Don't know if that means a staggered roll out, but I know it will be fairly obvious to tell the difference.
Nattin’ for me neither. Ain’t nothin spatializing over here. I’m going to write a strongly worded letter to Mr. Apple

It sounds like some phones and iPads do it from their speakers? Am I understanding that right? What about the 11 Pro Max?

Maybe the WWDC event folks told the Apple Music folks not to have an announcement right after the public WWDC keynote. It was kind of strange that there would be a separate announcement "event" right after one of Apple's biggest events in the year. Like they were trying to be a "One More Thing".

If so, the Apple Music folks probably got "penalized" and won't roll out until after the developer WWDC State of the Union keynote.

Pretty sure this is a mistake, that track is from about 2011 - there's no way the mixed it again for Dolby Atmos. It'll only be his latest album that has these features i'd guess.

Spacial audio is working for me. You need to turn it on in the sound settings as shown in the screen above.
Its like its from speakers out in front of me. Interesting. I have heard it on videos but straight music is different for sure. Not sure I would want this when working around the house since it moves with the tilt of your head but its cool I guess.

I’m experiencing Spacial Audio on Blinding Lights by The Weeknd on my iPad Pro 10” 2019 on iPad OS 15

EDIT: I’m actually experiencing it on everything. Even a song I literally recorded LAST WEEK and did NOT record with Dolby Atmos/Surround. It’s doing it’s own spatial audio interpretation on it and honestly, I’m blown away. Hearing my own voice in 3D is really cool.

Wait... WHAAT?.

PD: Its not available on Mac Os yet, right?. Only for some music videos.

That toggle is for spatial audio in "movies and TV shows", that's what it says when toggling.

There's no way this is true.

If it's working: the spatial audio icon in control center volume animates. If it's not, it lights up blue, but doesn't animate.

For me it only works on music videos as of now.

He said iPad OS15.
Must already be updated for the beta, and we won’t get anything for a while as we won’t have the head tracking feature till iOS 15 as it wasn’t mentioned to be included in iOS14

Not seeing it here, though on latest iOS, not iOS 15.
