Are there Clinton (Bill) Democrats around? It seems like the Democratic party today is about infanticide, transexuals and never ending investigations.

Mass immigration and identity politics dominates this party. It's amazing. If Democrats acted like Bill Clinton (politically) they'd have a real solid chance this election.

The left is DOMINATED by identity politics and mass migration (and abortion to some extent). Just dominated.

The idea of abortion all day all the time is just nuts. The idea of transexuals in mens and women's bathrooms and men completing in women's sports is bonkers. Congressional hearings on reparations? Lol. Didn't see that under Obama. Open borders? Watch the Democrats talk about the topic 10 years ago. They sound like Republicans today.

In primary votes the candidate moves to the center of his party. That is where he has to be to win. Then, if he wins, he moves to the center of the general electorate. A smart candidate proceeds cautiously as pandering promises he makes in the primary may hurt him in the general election.

Bill Clinton was a great politician. That is, he was great at the craft of politics. He moved right because the country moved slightly right. The country reacted against some of the natural and obvious consequences for liberal policies of the 80s and before.

The country has become more socialist/communist. A huge component of this is thought crimes and identity politics. Of course there are people who disagree. But the country as a whole continues its march leftward. The old conservatives wanted to get rid of the Department of Education. Bush II fully entrenched this department. Now almost no conservative has any thought to getting rid of it.

Being a conservative is ultimately a losing position. The state is always moving in some direction. To simply want to stay put never works. Most of the conservatives of today hold all the liberal positions of twenty or thirty years ago.

It's literally just a description of the candidates in tonight and tomorrow's debates so that people have a general sense of what each is about. Probably a good resource given how many are running. Who opens a news app and doesn't expect any politics?
There are many types of news and thankfully not all of the news available is political news. It should be my choice whether I want politics as a section or not. The Apple News app previously had far more than just one article forcibly injected into the feed.

And here we see how the left really feels. The mask comes off. Don't live in a big, urban area? You're a redneck. A basket of deplorables. The contempt just drips.
Something, something, latte-sipping snowflake soyboy coastal elites.

The right loves dishing out the insults, but needs a fainting couch the moment it comes back at them. The persecution complex shines so bright it can be seen from Jupiter.

I always thought this was funny, popular vote has never meant much but all of a sudden rules should be changed for the democrats.
Guess you weren’t interested in politics when for years the right wanted the same thing. Look it up, or not.

Trump is going to bring it home so hard, heads will spin. The left has gone off the rails to the point of certifiable, and people can see it. Shame, I’m a lefty, but not like this.
Same here. Most of these clowns make me ashamed to be a dem. Thats why they are beating on Joe Biden so hard on the left. He isn't extreme enough for them.

I think that it's a bad idea on Apple's part.

Apple and Tim should stay out of politics and concentrate on fixing the issues within Apple.
Why? Forget free speech, it is a NEWS APP after all. The hypocrisy on the right, or more accurately my way or the highway, did have a positive effects of showing how bad they are in actual governance, and building a Great Wall of resistance worldwide.

I actually just tried to. It looks like only 5 times in history has the popular vote not been with the candidate that ended up winning. It happened in 2000 and 2016 and before that in the 1800s (this is based on a quick google search, if its wrong please correct me). I don't see where republicans were ever for going by the popular vote, but if you can show me something proving otherwise I am all ears.

What's funny is your convenient overlooking that it is republicans who have spent the better part of half a century gerrymandering to dilute the popular vote by stuffing minorities into their own districts. Were it not for that, elections would largely reflect the popular vote.

"Free" stuff?

You mean like the other "free" services provided to you by the government? Such as the military, federal law enforcement, public highway system, Social Security, K-12 education, FDA, Medicare, etc, etc?
Social security and Medicare are free? Weird, looking at my checks I see money being taken out for that.... None of these things mentioned are free. Taxes are funding all of this. Meaning we don't want even more money taken out of our checks to pay for others "free" things.

I'm not paying attention till next year. But all you sides need to start looking at the truth behind things. Trump says stupid crap and lies because he loves the media attention... he's manipulating people. On the other hand Trump is a proven cheater and billionaire playboy so why do the evangelicals adore him? oh, abortion... even ectopic and non-viable pregnancies o_O. No wars sounds great hopefully he keeps that promise. The left want to give free stuff, but in reality giving "free college" will pay back many times the cost in future taxes. There's 2 choices for fixing healthcare both of which involve banning insurance... go to universal healthcare or go back to paying cash per service (lots of clinics around here are doing that). The national debt people have quit complaining since Trump won even though he's racked it up with tax cuts, how come they only cry about it when there's a democrat in office? How about cutting government spending and raising taxes heavily until it's paid off? Also no one running is a true socialist. Even Bernie is a democratic socialist Capitalist with some policies republicans pre-Reagan would be for. In the end voting counts, yet some 11 year old just hacked a simulated Florida voter system in 10 minutes and was able to change election results at some competition ... still vote I guess.. wait till next year, go enjoy life. Whoever wins...

"to attain any success it is quite clear that the Federal government cannot avoid or escape responsibilities which the mass of the people firmly believe should be undertaken by it." -Eisenhower
