I'd say here in Sweden, the US Democrats would be considered anti-feminist, white-supremacists, racists, and violent gun nuts. The Sweden Democrats that is the scary far-right party here that all other parties tries to block from gaining any power are still not as far right as the US Democrats

The only reason Apple would partner with ABC (in this specific case) is to lure more people to pay for the service.

If it was a successful service anyway, it would have just been "more ways to watch"

I've been to Europe several times, doesn't mean I consider any of their politicians viable. Also, I'm an American voter, so I don't really care.

It's not so much that any news source is Left or Right, it's that almost all of them focus entirely on controversy and ridiculousness while shilling for the political establishment. Any of the major outlets will have this problem.

Yep, optimizing your articles for the most clicks is going to do this. It's really lucrative to fire people up over bs, and I don't mean actually fake news but misleading headlines and/or important details missing. Easiest to spot in tech articles since I actually know the stuff (unlike law), and The Verge is probably the worst offender there.

I'll take far left thinking over far right any day. At least the left uses and believes in science and strives for better equality. Far right agenda only helps the rich stay and get richer, hates on the poor the sick and the different.

I'm all for environmental protection, but it's idiotic how many prominent leaders on the Left (including Bernie Sanders) blame global warming for nearly anything* with no scientific foundation. It's hypocritical. They've made a mockery of something really serious while being arrogant about it, and now a large portion of the country has lost faith in it, which is hard to blame them for. South Park got it right with the Prius episode.

Also "strives for equality" = impose literal race and gender quotas in schools and other institutions. Sorry, keep it. My friend keeps having to lie about his race to qualify for things that explicitly state that you must be one of the listed (not white or Middle Eastern) races. Far right and far left seem effectively the same to me.

* It was just some random opinion article, but I saw someone blaming it for the Syrian Civil War. ffs

The Republican party in 1970 would be considered liberal today. (not counting LGBTQ and any number of social issues)

I consider it liberal today.
