Who do you believe? The wall street journal lists sources as "people familiar with the matter" and the NY Times with the equally vague "people briefed on Apple’s plans". :)

I still think that the iPhone 5 or 6 will be smaller. The screen won't be smaller, but the rest of the phone will be.

No black border below or to the sides of the screen, and a reduced black border above the screen. No Home Button on the front. Same screen-size, smaller iPhone.

Why the obsession with getting the iPhone smaller? My hands and fingers are not getting any smaller next year, and probably won't the year after.

And to those who are yearning for the 4" model similar to the Evo, my hands are not getting any bigger. Have you try to put a 4" phone in your jean pocket, a 3.5" smart phone is tough enough!

I say repackage 3GS, so older generation iPhones will get better developers support.

they still won't run any better. They're almost bricks as it is.. just wait till the next patch. Apple does a great job of bricking older phones so iSheep will persuaded to buy new ones. $teve Job$ a dying genius!!:D

Mobile me should only be free if you buy an apple product! I dont want service to be free to all the masses. then you'll have millions taking advantage of it and become another geocities

they should also change the name to spotlight their computers. how about mac.com?

No small iPhone? It sounds like Apple just flushed out whoever caused that leak...hopefully they are actively looking for a job.

you forgot the camera, but nice try amateur. you should have gotten rid of home button too

Its their its just to dark to see it, and I did forget the one on the back. And I dont believe they will get rid of the home button, at least not yet.

You never hear people saying: "Man, this iPhone is huge!"

It doesn't need to get smaller.

Back in the day when there were more narrow candy bar and tiny flip phones in use, lots of people thought the iPhone was a huge slab in comparison.

Still is. It really needs to get smaller to be more fashionable. But there may not be a way to do that, and still provide a good smartphone (apps, web browser, etc.) experience... with current technology.

Wait a few years.

Right, because Google's services are (mostly) free and it still works and runs great.

I sure hope that MobileMe stays a pay-for service. If it becomes free, then I'm quitting. I don't trust free online services... even if it's from Apple. My email, contacts, calendar, photos, website... all that on a free service.

I'd rather pay the $$ per year and have a secure service than pay nothing and worry. Plus, if it's free, and I complain about the service, they don't need to listen. As it stands now, I have $$ to barter with...

I wouldnt hold my breath for a significant upgrade. I think this will be like going from a 3G to a 3GS. They just sold a buttload of Verizon phones and the iphone 4 is still the best phone on the market. No competition + strong sales = no impressive upgrade.
