True but the files are reduced.
Depends on the original file size. Regardless, that doesn't change the point being made. Apple provides a lot of free storage and bandwidth outside of the 5 GB.

you get unlimited photo storage with iCloud
Not really. It deletes them after a period (can't remember how long) as its only designed for syncing/copying back to your mac. Sure you get 1000 photos that dont get deleted. However even for a family 1000 photos is nothing these days.
iCloud remains a complete joke. It's essentially just MobileMe with a few bugfixes, it still provides a tiny amount of storage, and pretty piss poor features, with reliability you can't count on.
Again, iCloud will store 1,000 photos without expiration in each shared photostream that you create. I am not aware of any limits on the number of shared photostreams that you can create.
Just sign up for SkyDrive for better email, better storage, cheaper upgrades, and better service.
I've read there are a max of 100 shared phototreams.
Totally agree. I'm paying for each device, so each device should get it's own 5GB allocation. And 5GB isn't really enough even for just iPhone backups. You should get 5gb for EACH iOS device you have purchased and are using. When you have multiple devices using the same iCloud account it can fill pretty quickly.

They've proven that they had the ability to accomodate for 100% of all MobileMe users having 20 GB,
Fine with me. With an iPad and 2 iPhones fully backed up, happy to pay for this service. To that person who said Flickr is giving you 1TB for
Photos: you get unlimited photo storage with iCloud
I wonder how much value articles like this add to the MR community as a whole...
Either this affects you and Apple already has/will email you... Or this doesn't affect you and thus probably don't care a whole lot.
But you can create multiple shared photostreams. Not sure if there is a limit on how many.

With that said, I almost feel that Apple might have a plan to up the limit in the near future.
True what you're saying, who could argue but I will say Dropbox isn't the holy solution because they only offer 2GB free storage.
My feeling is Apple is going backwards instead of forward![]()
