No headphone jack. Their iPad mini's have been a godsend while flying with my kids, but try telling my five year old to not lose his tiny dongle so he can use his Spiderman headphones before a long distance flight. And no charging while using headphones either. This is killing me.

Mini 6 is an awesome upgrade, but sticking with my Mini 5. Have an air 4, and hate the touch ID power button with a passion.

Appreciate the feedback on the power button touch ID. Have seen a few other complaints about it. Will stick with my 5 too.

There are third party USB-C dongles that a bit bigger (harder to lose) and have pass through power. At that point you might want one with HDMI out and a classic USB 3 plug, but I’ve seen one before somewhere which was just headphone /audio out + power. (Obviously that’s adding to the total cost though, but at least it’ll work for other USB-C devices too if you have ‘em.)

This is what I've been waiting for and I'd order immediately, but I'm unsure about the colors. I was hoping for a blue like the Air. I always get Space Gray and would like to change it up. Starlight looks like cream, so I'd probably lean toward purple, but it's not my favorite.

I've just ordered the iPad9 64GB Space Grey for my sister. She was a bit disappointed with the lack of colour choices though.
For myself, I have ordered the iPad mini 64GB Space Grey with cellular. This is to replace my iPad Air 3.

I wasn't going to order one...but for some reason Trade Ins are really good right now. My original $75 trade in for my 12.9 inch iPad became $250 so I bit.

I wasn't up for a new iPad ever again. I was holding out for the pro's to support Final Cut once they got the M1 chip. My 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 is pretty much just a TV monitor now on my desk for live streams.

The new IPP's are more costly than the MacBook M1 air - and not as useful to me.

I think the new mini is quite interesting because I'll likely take it around with me more than my IPP- and can finally get some value from Apple News+ / arcade etc because it's easy to hold and I can breathe second life into my Apple Pencil which I dont use anymore.

I will tether to my iPhone for data- I have a tonne of Gb on my phone that I can use when needed so went for cellular.

I went for space grey with black folio but thinking I should be more exciting and go for orange - but perhaps too bright for using subtly!

Time to retire my iPad 6th generation for an iPad Mini 6 in Purple. Getting the Apple Pencil and the aubergine (Wild Cherry ) folio.

As much as I always loved Apple‘s mini products (including the iPad mini), I will hold out to see one in-store.

At 2266 x 1488, the resolution is actually smaller than the previous generation’s 2048 x 1536 in width.

Dude, do you even math?

iPad Mini 6: 3,371,808 pixels.
iPad Mini 5: 3,145,728 pixels.

The ppi is also the same:
iPad Mini 6: 326 ppi.
iPad mini 5: 326 ppi.

So no, there is no sense in which the Mini 6 has “smaller” resolution than the Mini 5.

It's f*ckin' adorable, and I want 3 of them even though I need 0 of them because I have a the blue iPad Air already (which I also love). This new iPad mini has gotta be the nicest iPad of all time so far.

Too bad the new Mini has A13. My 2018 iPad 12.9 has a A12X...I don't suspect there will be a huge (if any) performance increase? I just wanted something smaller, but I guess I'll keep my 12.9 for a little while longer.

Is there any advantage to the new Mini iPad over my 2018 12.9 iPad Pro? I don't use the camera on it, at all. Is the screen on the Mini better than mine in any way?

I just orderd mine, space grey, orange folio case, pencil2 and apple care, I even got my mini 5 to trade in, this and the PS5 made today an expensive day, roll on iPhone 13 order day.
you can trade in older minis? thats a concept

im getting rid of the 12.9! i think the performance tradeoff will be worth it for me anyway !

Why they didn’t call it iPad Air mini?

They could still sell the old iPad mini.

any guess on RAM for the 6? iPad OS 15 has turned my 4th gen. (2 GB) into the La Brea tar pits. maybe a refurb Mini 5 with 3 GB would be enough for now.
iPadOS 14.x has pretty much made my 4th gen mini unusable. No need to go to iPadOS 15!
New 256GB 5G mini will soon be on its way to me!
