Eligible!! Cannot wait to get this replaced!! At 40% or below its been fair game for my phone to suddenly die, especially if its chilly out lol. Making an appointment for Monday.

Hopefully they expand this to 6s Plus soon. Both My phone and my wife's phone are having these issues (at 10% for me, at 14% for her) but even though my serial number has a "QD" in it it apparently doesn't pass this screen (I'm guessing because of the "plus" factor.)

Both phones were day one deliveries, so early production models.

No kidding, mine intermittently will shut down until plugged into a lightning cable. Did it twice back to back the other day.

My 6 does this too. Just turned off at 36%. Plug it in and it's back to normal...for a while...but apples battery test says it's fine so I can't do anything about it!

Yeah, it's frustrating. I had a battery test done too, just a few weeks ago, and it's "normal". Ya right, lol.

Mine qualified, I had it replaced the very day the announcement was released, last week Monday.

For any of you on the fence, not having having random shut offs, etc. I would definitely get it done, regardless. Best case, you get a brand new battery. I will say that my phone lasts A LOT longer now, I can get through the day without charging, rapid changes in battery levels, etc. I'm on the latest beta, FWIW.

I don't know if there's any specific defective serial numbers for that. Seems to be just luck of the draw.
[doublepost=1480615059][/doublepost]

They have acknowledged it and started doing repairs for affected devices, and there's apparently a refund system in place for those who had already paid to get it repaired.

Im aware of that, but the fact you have to PAY to get it fixed is appalling.

Have had my 6S since launch day, no problems so far until two days ago when it shut down twice while at 70%, tried to boot it, it showed that it needed to be plugged in. Waited for a minute, it booted again, with 33% remaining. Shut down like 30 seconds after that, same thing, booted again and then showed 67% at which it stayed. It was in the cold outside though (-2ºC) because since then it's been in much warmer conditions with no issue. Filled in my serial, I'm eligible for a replacement, but as long as it works fine (like it does without these cold temperatures) I'll keep it as it is. Unless it becomes too extreme of course.

They need to do this for the original 6 too. Not just the S. I have two in the family, orignal 6, that exhibit the exact same behavior they are replacing these batteries for.
I am wondering as well. I have similiar issues, but usually only when it is "cold" 8 degree Celsius (47 Fahrenheit) - not really cold, but still the phone shuts off even at 50% battery. Ridiculous.

There isn't any Specific serial numbers. It would be convenient if it would actually exist. But at least there is a repair process.

I have the random shutdowns problem, but the page says I am not eligible ...

So...I don't recall ever having a random shut down issue with my 6s, but I rarely let it get below 20% before charging it. However, my serial number shows as eligible. Should I still take it to be replaced?

I'm holding back here.....but why would you not take it to be replaced?

iPhone-6s-Colors-250x345.jpg
Two weeks after launching an iPhone 6s battery repair program, Apple has released a tool that allows iPhone 6s owners to check whether their device is affected by the problem.

An updated page for the iPhone 6s program includes an option to enter a serial number to determine whether an iPhone 6s is eligible for a free battery replacement.

A small number of iPhone 6s models manufactured between September and October of 2015 have a faulty battery, which can cause the iPhone 6s to unexpectedly shut down.

Devices that fall into the eligible manufacturing date will be able to receive a new battery from Apple at no charge should they exhibit the unexpected shutdown issue. Devices must be in good working condition to receive a battery replacement -- Apple won't swap it out if there's an issue like a cracked screen that could impair the battery replacement.

iPhone 6s owners with an eligible device can visit an Apple retail store, an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or call Apple Support for assistance with the issue. Customers who have already paid to have their iPhone 6s batteries replaced can receive reimbursement from Apple for the repair costs.

How long did it take to replace?

Never realised this was a general problem. My launch day iPhone 6S had that problem through out its life. One moment it would say there was 55% battery life. The next moment, it would power off because of a supposedly empty battery. I traded it in at Apple though, as part payment for an iPhone 7 Plus.

I KNEW MY DEVICE WAS AFFECTED! That's me!!! I tried to tell them that back LAST FALL!

I TOLD YOU SO!!! Here I am rubbing it in your face. ONE. MO. GAIN.

I knew this was gonna happen. I told you so.

I didn't get a chance to read through all of the details. Does anyone know if batteries would be replaced on site, same day?

You need to read it better. The battery replacement is FREE. Apple said if your phone has other issues, such as a cracked screen, that MUST be fixed first, THEN you have to pay for that particular repair. The battery replacement is still free.

I also have a Day 1 device and mine is eligible for replacement. Mine shuts down a lot if I get down to around 30% battery. Wife 6 Plus also has touch disease. Will have to make an appointment to get them both fixed. Disappointed in the lower quality control lately. The "it just works" seems to come with a lot of caveats in the last couple years. (My TB display stopped working a few months ago, and my iMac was having problems connecting to the internet that required a full restore).
