I have one payment left on iPhone upgrade program and it’s telling me that to upgrade I have to send in my old phone which I want to keep for another family member.

Shouldn’t there be an option to simply pay off the current phone and keep it while using the existing upgrade program for the credit details for the new phone?

Verizon now forces you to get 36 month installment to get their $800 credit...:eek::eek:
My next next iPhone then will be iPhone 17 Pro (or Ultra).

I would like to do this, but I have concerns with the trade in program. I traded in a perfectly good conditioned iPad several months ago when I bought a new iPad through the Apple app. Several weeks later, apples “partner” came back and said that instead of giving me 300 or so dollars for my tablet (what was quoted when I made the purchase/trade in online) they were giving me 40. The rationale was complete bogus. The only recourse I had was to accept it at the reduced amount - and the remainder would be charged to my installment plan or they’d send me back the iPad and the full balance (including the 40$) would be billed to my monthly installment for the new iPad which I had bought / traded it in for. Bait and switch much? Is there a way to preorder, w a trade in, and avoid this? Ie bring the phone to be traded to the store and still have an order placed online? I can’t get to apples store at 9am on a Friday. I work.
Do trade in on internet order then take to store.

You need to pay off with citizens. Then they close the iup for that device.

Looks like it's a bit involved/difficult to early pay off a citizens loan and probably more trouble than it's worth.

I'll just get my new phone with a regular account and ditch the early upgrade program, which I've never used anyway.

Thanks for the reply

What the heck? I'm so confused. Why is this a thing? What part of the ordering process is so complex they can't manage it, but they can manage a pre-order system, but the pre-order system is so complex they can't actually even manage that and they need a pre-pre-order system they can manage?

My head hurts just reading this. Let me help you out. You see, in making the purchase you have to indicate which phone, memory, carrier, and some other things. The you can actually add it to your cart and pay. But in you massive anxiety to make the purchase, you end up making a configuration mistake, you panic, and now have to wait 2 months to get your phone. Imagine if you could make all those configuration changes in a calm manner, at your leisure. Then a purchase time, when the online store opens, and you're in an unsteady state, you bring up your already filled out configuration, then simply add it to your cart, pay and done. I think I can sell this concept to Apple. What do you think?

I have two phones that I am upgrading. The first pre order went through fine. The second one had trouble with the carrier part. It said that they couldn’t connect to my carrier (although I could still buy the phone and activate later). Anyone else have this problem?

I wasn’t planning on doing the carrier trade in and financing but they’re giving $1000 for an 11 pro max whereas I’d get less than half that by trading in anywhere else. Only problem is… you can’t do the pre-pre-order if you’re carrier financing.
I’m not sure it’s worth the risk of not being able to get an order in once the page goes live in the morning and the floodgates open.
You probably will be locked in a contract for 30 Months too.

Because these things go fast, when preordering I usually make a change to color or storage capacity depending on ship dates.

I wonder if this "time saving" step could cost me more time if I want to change because the estimated ship date got pushed out for my first choice.
