Just remember: that $1,000 is paid in the form of a $27.78 bill credit for 36 months.I wasn’t planning on doing the carrier trade in and financing but they’re giving $1000 for an 11 pro max whereas I’d get less than half that by trading in anywhere else. Only problem is… you can’t do the pre-pre-order if you’re carrier financing.
I’m not sure it’s worth the risk of not being able to get an order in once the page goes live in the morning and the floodgates open.

If you don’t turn in payments reinstatedI’m looking around but I can’t find any actual confirmation for this. If you use the trade in program it just says you must turn in your existing phone.

I upgraded with the AT&T Next program for years until they "never received" my iPhone XS the year of the iPhone 11. I had tracking information that showed them receiving it at their facility but AT&T wouldn't budge.right, and sometimes never. i had a perfectly clean iphoneX and a questionable 11 which i traded in to AT&T. they assured me that i'd get the $700 credit on the promotion for both of those phones but when they received them, they were rejected and i got a $300 credit, total, for both phones. not good, but then again now i'm not locked in waiting for the credit to come in dribs and drabs.
Its for financing purposes. Most of the problems that used to be caused on pre-order day was failures with banks setting up the credit agreements due to them being overwhelmed. This pre-pre-order sets up your credit agreement in advance, so your financing is already in place. What the heck? I'm so confused. Why is this a thing? What part of the ordering process is so complex they can't manage it, but they can manage a pre-order system, but the pre-order system is so complex they can't actually even manage that and they need a pre-pre-order system they can manage?
You're not totally wrong. I have an iPhone 8 as a backup spare on a different carrier and it is a pretty dandy little phone. I'm replacing my 12 Pro because I use my phone a lot and I'm hard on it, kick it around and drop it on the floor. Just a matter of time before the many small cracks in the screen become a big crack and I'm out $350.Folks who upgrade the iPhone yearly have impulse control problems.
Your iPhone 13/12 is still great. It's fast and has an assload of cool features that'll be supported for years to come. Apple needs you to buy the new one more than you need to buy it.
It's probably the rest of the satellite SOS infrastructure on the ground (like the relay centers, staffing them with trained emergency personnel, those relay centers having the proper coordination in place with locale specific emergency services) that needs to be put in place in each country (the satellite connectivity is only a small portion of that service). What I dont understand is why the globalstar satellite connection is only available in USA and Canada. Specially the service is pretty much available worldwide. Specially here in New Zealand
Nope looks like another “US only” feature :/
You can order without the trade in and then after you receive your new phone bring the old one into Apple. However, it must be done within the two week return period.I would like to do this, but I have concerns with the trade in program. I traded in a perfectly good conditioned iPad several months ago when I bought a new iPad through the Apple app. Several weeks later, apples “partner” came back and said that instead of giving me 300 or so dollars for my tablet (what was quoted when I made the purchase/trade in online) they were giving me 40. The rationale was complete bogus. The only recourse I had was to accept it at the reduced amount - and the remainder would be charged to my installment plan or they’d send me back the iPad and the full balance (including the 40$) would be billed to my monthly installment for the new iPad which I had bought / traded it in for. Bait and switch much? Is there a way to preorder, w a trade in, and avoid this? Ie bring the phone to be traded to the store and still have an order placed online? I can’t get to apples store at 9am on a Friday. I work.
Yes. Happens with any of the carrier deals. Not sure why. I paid off my Apple Card balance yesterday. Frustrating 😀When I attempt to do this and select T-Mobile Financing (which gives me a much better trade-in deal than Apple's trade-in), it won't let me finish the process. The Continue button is grayed out.
When I switch to Buy instead of Finance, it lets me set up the pre-pre-order flawlessly.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Where do you see $1000? I have the 11 pro max and the offer is $370.I wasn’t planning on doing the carrier trade in and financing but they’re giving $1000 for an 11 pro max whereas I’d get less than half that by trading in anywhere else. I was forced to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which caused the AT&T Office of the President to reach out to me. After providing all of my evidence to the Office of the President, I finally received my credit. I will NEVER trade in anything with AT&T again.
