iOS 13.1

Interesting that 13.0 is getting just 5 days basically.

They needed to have a 13.0 for two reasons: the main one was having iOS 13 right out of the box for the new phones that couldn't ship with iOS 12.
iOS 13 is also necessary to have a Watch with watchOS 6 paired to an iPhone, so they couldn't postpone the release of iOS 13 for existing customers as they'd have to ship the watches later.
It is a weir rollout, but the only one possible.

So far one minor bug in the release but it was likely an app issue and not an OS issue. Other than that, it's been flawless on my Xr. Noticeably faster than iOS 12 and FaceID is almost instantaneous now (wasn't slow before). Not a huge fan of dark mode (I like it on macOS but I'm not sold on it yet for iOS). I really like the updated Notes and Reminders apps. Haven't had much time to try out the rest of the updated apps but so far, it's been a great release.

Looking forward for iPadOS!

I installed 13.0 on my 6S today and so far haven’t noticed any issues when doing today’s activities. Kind of relieved, but usage scenarios differ wildly so I buy that some people might be going through hell right now. I know I did with iPadOS beta 2 :)

I like how Apple is rolling lately. Prioritize stability over promised features when rolling out a new OS. If parts of it aren't ready, delay the release of those parts and make it better. Under promise on the revised date, then deliver early.
This post is ironic since they released 13 with a serious security bug they were told about at least a month ago.

Well, the first part can be taken care of without actual release of 13.0 to other devices. The second, that’s a little different and can certainly play a role in actually making 13.0 available on existing devices.

There is a serious security flaw in IOS 13 which is to be fixed in iOS 13.1. This is the reason for quick release of 13.1.
What is that based on? (13.1 was going to be released fairly quickly after 13.0 even without being pushed up, from plans that were made a while ago.)

Still have scars from 7.0 and 11.0

11.0 literally destroyed the batteries in 3 of my iOS devices in one day.

Apple should have been absolutely destroyed by lawuers for that one, but other than the $30 battery replacement program they seem to have gotten away with it.

Just do an internet search on security problem on iOS 13 it is everywhere now. Your contacts and passwords are exposed.

Is there any actual information to share? It doesn't seem like much has come up about it in all kinds of iOS 13 discussions here, which is kind of odd if there was an issue of that sort that was widespread.

Sure wish I knew what email problems people are having...My Xs with the new iOS 13 (not beta) is having no trouble at all.

A couple of issues I’ve noticed is I will get an email without getting a notification and when I do get a notification and tap it, the app only goes to my email folders...it won’t even open the app up to my inbox. It never opens the actual email from the lock screen, but it’s been like that for a while now.

I had to go back to the Outlook app for now.

When you’re reading an email in the inbox if you delete it from within the email it is supposed to take you one step back to the inbox. It does do that but there are two of them, so you have to hit back again to go to the correct inbox. I have attached pics to show what happens when I delete the mail. I’m running an iPhone 11 pro clean setup. It’s the same iOS 13 bug from the beta. This bug is fixed in 13.1 tho.
