Yep. I’ve seen some people here call it that also and not sarcastically even. Not sure how there are still people and companies that don’t know the name of it.Anytime I see an ad calling the Apple Watch “iWatch” I immediately disregard it.

The cost is probably buried in the MagSafe certification. Apple's MFi program isn't a huge tax, but if I recall, there are specific MFi dealers you have source certain parts from, which cuts into overall margin on the product. You more or less have to increase the retail price of the product to make up for all the other costs associated with sales/marketing/R&D for an MFi (or in this case MFM - Made for MagSafe) product.I love Anker’s products but price is a bit steep on this one.
$130 for a pole that holds an iPad? Lmao.
It’s not the pole but the base. Are there any Physics masters who can figure out how heavy that pole needs to be for it not to tip over from an iPad 5ft off the ground?
I recall reading “somewhere” that MFi products in general use a charging module purchased from Apple. As in they don’t design that part of the product, but buy it from Apple as a drop in to their product. Which is presumably more expensive than non-MFi products. The cost is probably buried in the MagSafe certification. Hampton DeVille, eat your heart out"Twelve South 5-Foot iPad Stand"
A stand for a 5 foot iPad? it must be the iPad Ultra.

Not a physics master, but you don't want the weight in the pole - that'd make it more likely to tip - you want the weight in the base plate. And to not tip even with a good strong accidental knock, I'm thinking you'd want like a hundred pounds or more, given the 5 foot lever has a lot of leverage to pry the base plate up off the floor and the relatively small dimensions of the base plate. So... Steel? Iron? Tungsten? Depleted Uranium? And, in any case, thicker than is shown. Unless, of course, you put mounting holes in the base plate and then screw it to the floor. But I can't imagine that'd go over well for most people's uses.
100%. Capitalism is the best. Nothing compares.I think it says more about capitalism than anything, that many people would be willing to buy a product with no rationale for the value. As the saying goes; buy the car you need rather than the one you want.
Yes, the charger from hell.......waste of moneyAs it's almost Halloween, now I know what the cube sort of reminds me of....

I second this. It’s all marketing bs from companies who are trying to shake the dough out of people’s pockets. The cube seems far too big for travel. Even 3 separate chargers for an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods don't take up that much space. And the new AirPod Pro 2 can charge with the Apple Watch charger or Lightning, so you really shouldn't need to carry just for them. They have more than enough juice between the case and AirPods to charge them at some point when they phone and watch aren't using it.
I'd venture a guess that it is heavy on purpose, to keep it from tipping over and to try to make one-handed removal of devices possible. Travel probably wasn't their first thought. Apple sells their own "MagSafe Duo Charger" for that, as well as the "mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe". With the Anker Cube, weight was seen as an asset, not a liability. This thing is really heavy. I mean, very heavy. Heavier than the Belkin 3 in 1. If you wanted to take this thing for travel, you'd feel it.
The watch Ultra also has some difficult being put onto its charger. It works, but it feels flimsy and very easy to dislodge off the charger. There is zero wiggle space, so jus taking your phone off the charger will almost always dislodge the watch ultra.
I'm so glad to see more dual magsafe charging pads showing up. For the longest time I had trouble finding a 3 in 1 that has magsafe for both iPhone and AirPods.![]()

I got this for like €30 on Amazon and it works great. It’s small and portable, works with MagSafe fast charging and the finish is surprisingly good.
I just couldn’t justify spending €150 on a charger. Hopefully it won’t destroy my devices in the long run :/
Ya
I just can’t find the item anywhere on Anker.com and Apple does not mention anything about fast charging.
I agree, they are over-priced. Used to love them.12 South and Mophie are so over priced ... I bought a way better 3in1 stand off AMAZON FOR $30.00 ...
The 15 W are for the iPhone alone.I like the cube, but it needs to fast charge my phone, watch and AirPods Pro gen 2 at full speed or I will have to pass.
at 15w it does not I assume.
I would settle though if all three devices are up, the watch gets fast charged even if it means slower charging for the others. will have to wait for reviews.
