Love mine, use them everyday from music to podcasts to telling Siri to do things. $250 (Black Friday prices) is a much more acceptable price. $199 and they would sell so well.
If you're thinking about buying it - think a bit longer.
There isn't integration with Apple Home or Apple Music app. Imagine that, Spotify a third party app, has options to scrub through your music and view track names whilst Apple Music has nothing.
$149 and then we'll talk.
Still too high...It may be an excellent sounding machine but not the right market.
Apple hardly mentioned the Siri capabilities of the HomePod during the Keynote and hardly does so on their website. It's beyond clear from what they've said again and again that the smart speaker capabilities are not at all the focus.
I absolutely love our Echo Dot for how well Alexa works and how well it does everything where Siri simply falls flat on its face.If you're thinking about buying it - think a bit longer.

Also, Siri is gimped and is much worst at understanding speech then Google Home or Alexa.
But the HomePod does have great sound!
Still too much considering the average quality speakers and sound it produces, and the "virtual assistant".
Have you actually tested the HomePod? The sound compared to other ‘Smart speakers’ is by far above average. It’s fairly impressive with the bass and treble, but more balanced where the sounds travels without sounding ‘distorted’.
The "Smart" part is not worth that much extra at all, ESPECIALLY with Siri, which if anything devalues it.
