Probably another water bottle made in China. Also - they need to figure out how to make glass water bottles that stay cool. Glass is so much better/safer alternative to plastic/steel.

I use WaterMinder, custom reminders and it integrets with the Health app and has a watch app with complication.
After a year of having the reminders on, I turned them off since I don't need them anymore. I was able to create a firm habit of how often I drink. And having the complication showing how much I've drank every time I check the time reminds me as well.

I definitely see both sides of arguments here. While the idea of spending $80 is a bit crazy, this can actually be useful for many. Millions of people don't drink nearly enough water so in the long term, if spending $80 on a bottle is what it takes to change that for some, I'm not against it for those people. Many people do great with alternative methods but some people need reminders and this caters to them.

It's okay for things to be ridiculous or overpriced to you or me but useful to others.

Waste of resources but Apple will sell those bottles since it's more money to it. Apple lovers and those with money would buy it to show off their overpriced Apple bling.
Fools and their money are soon parted. To each their own.

If people really need something like those bottles to remind them to drink water and how much water is remaining in the bottle, there are further issues involved.

can't wait for smart toilet paper so it can tell me the quiality of my poo
Did a quick search. There's a Harvard Graduate Design Project for just such a thing and Amazon sells a smart toilet roll spindle that will automatically reorder toilet paper when your supply runs low. Not sure I want that part of my home automated.

The people complaining about an $80 water bottle are probably walking around in their Patagonia flip flops with their Yeti coolers.
its like 40 bucks for a yeti this size and it doesn't light up or talk to your phone. I really don't think this is a terrible price for one of these. A bit high, but not $999 wheels for a computer tower kinda high.

While the majority here are frowning upon this, someone with serious health issues or that makes poor life choices, even maybe someone older, this could be a step in the right direction to creating healthy habits OR being reminded to stay on track.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s expensive for a water bottle though.
Reminds me of the Apple Watch! It's pricy and a good # of us won't bother with it, but they'll have a market for it for sure since it's nice and has its uses!

And if we were to go further back, I used to disparage GPS devices since.. "what's wrong with using Map Quest? Review the route before hand, or print out the directions so you can take with you!". I later on got a standalone GPS device, and it was indeed something I didn't want to go without. On a related "back note", I'm still not interested in getting an Apple Watch. I'm told you really need an iPhone and I enjoy Android too much to also get an iPhone just to use an AW. For that matter, no interest in other smart watches.

The smaller version has been available in the Apple store for at least a year. I have one. I actually ordered the larger version last week from the Apple store as I had some cards to use, arriving tomorrow. I don't drive a Prius, I drive a diesel powered F350... Why do I like this bottle? Data. I'm obsessed over metrics and data. I've had a smart scale since 2010, it's all logged. I love being able to see the data, the trends, the ups, the downs. This bottle syncs with Apple Health. I love having one source where I can aggregate all of my information. Now I can keep one at Work and one for on the go. What I don't like is how all of this data and information will be used in the future. ie health insurance rates, or who knows what else.

Bottle criticism -- I wish they would use USB-C for charging, opposed to their proprietary magnetic connector.

I’m gonna design a smart plate: “You know you want that second slice of cake. You did do 4 minutes of cardio after all.”

I wouldn't be surprised if this one day becomes a thing
Maybe not the paper but the toilet will most definitely get sensors for analyzing poop and pee so you can see salt levels, electrolytes and different digestive problems.
