Water tastes so much better in glass bottles though. I just don’t trust any of these drinking bottles made in China and prefer glass bottles for drinking water.Glass isn’t safer on a sports pitch.
This is terrible advice. It will lead to people being dehydrated.Drinking so much water just puts more effort on your renal system. Much as you should only eat when hungry you should also just drink when you are thirsty. Why anybody would want to track such a stat is beyond me.

Not sure if it’s true. This is terrible advice. It will lead to people being dehydrated.
But if I'm dehydrated, I am thirsty. My point is that you really shouldn't be drinking 6 pints of water a day. This is terrible advice. It will lead to people being dehydrated.
UK guidance is 6-8 glasses of water/fluids per day. Which is closer to 3 pints ish.But if I'm dehydrated, I am thirsty. My point is that you really shouldn't be drinking 6 pints of water a day.
Wrong. For example one of the recommended intakes for men is 6.5 US pints (7.8 UK) (Mayo Clinic). But if I'm dehydrated, I am thirsty. My point is that you really shouldn't be drinking 6 pints of water a day.
You’re right, I don’t need it, but I can afford it. So why not have the convenience of it? I personally believe knowing how much fluids you consume is vital, especially for an athlete like myself who is a serious weightlifter, it’s crucial that you stay hydrated to prevent injury.Businessmen coming up with ways to see how much you'll pay for things you don't need. lol

I mean, the idea of an Apple Health connected water bottle isn’t a terrible one. I have a water tracker on my phone, but the weakness in that system is the lack of automatic tracking. It’s dependent on me to be diligent in tracking what I drink and in realizing whether I’m getting enough water or not.$80 for a water bottle? ?. No thanks.
If a Yeti bottle of this size is $40, then this legitimately looks like a pretty good deal. Anything Apple Health related carries a slight cost premium to cover communication with an app (and development of said app, for that matter). I figured it was maybe $20 too expensive for what it was, but a 32 ounce Yeti bottle is either way overpriced for what you get (a possibility I’m more than willing to entertain) or this is actually about the cheapest you could make an Apple Health connected water bottle. The people complaining about an $80 water bottle are probably walking around in their Patagonia flip flops with their Yeti coolers.
its like 40 bucks for a yeti this size and it doesn't light up or talk to your phone. I really don't think this is a terrible price for one of these. A bit high, but not $999 wheels for a computer tower kinda high.
Apple consumers can be so bizarre at times.
$60 smart water bottle = expensive waste of money
$1100 6 year old monitor in a metal case for $2500 = Take my money now!
Yep. I never understood the reasoning with forcing so much water in your system. Your body will tell you when you are thirsty.Drinking so much water just puts more effort on your renal system. I dunno, there are some medical operations that can change your body’s water needs, not to mention medications that can cause cottonmouth or dry mouth. And most people don’t drink enough water, most people don’t really have a solid idea of how much water they drink. What you’re saying could easily be applied to, say, calorie intake, it’s very easy to over- or under- estimate your calorie intake, just as it is with your water intake. Humans are notoriously categorically bad at these kinds of (especially memory) tasks. Do you really remember whether you had enough water throughout the day? Was that one glass or two that you drank during the work day? How much water are you really getting from the water fountain at work or school? It truly is hard to remember and estimate these sorts of things, even if you don’t have special needs that require drinking more water. Especially if you’re doing physical activities outside during the summer. If you need an app to remind you to drink water you have bigger issues to deal with
You can also examine your urine. If it is clear, you have overindulged. If it is a dark yellow you are dehydrated. A slight yellow tinge is the happy medium and it coincides with thirst. People pushing the dehydrated nonsense are just shilling a product that is solving a problem that never existed in the first place. Your body tells you when to eat, when to drink and when to breathe. One day, it is hoped, it will also tell people when to think.Yep. I never understood the reasoning with forcing so much water in your system. Your body will tell you when you are thirsty.
By your metric, I often run dehydrated, and I assume I’m not the only person. I feel like mentally I get a decent amount of water through the day, but clearly there are days and times when that’s less true. I have a water tracking app on my phone, but it’s hard to remember to use it properly, and I get so many notifications to check in with it, that I tend to go numb to the notifications. You can also examine your urine. So many words to just say, if your body isn't giving you the right signals, see a doctor because you are malfunctioning.By your metric, I often run dehydrated, and I assume I’m not the only person. It’s pretty clear that asking people to estimate how much water they drink is about as reliable as asking them to estimate how much calories they’re consuming, how fast they’re driving in foggy weather without a speedometer, what the temperature is, how long a new task will take, or how much is in their bank account if they don’t keep a budget. And it’s clear that people don’t necessarily have the best of relationships with food, either eating too little or too much. Clearly, hormone body signals alone aren’t enough, or there would be no anorexia and no obesity, and we’d all get exactly the right about of sleep. And it doesn’t help that many of the substances we indulge in daily (*cough*caffeine*cough*) have an adverse impact on some of those signals.
Now, the product does seem a little expensive, but you’re either overestimating yourself or other people if you think this is a completely unnecessary product. Clearly, there’s some perceived benefit. If there wasn’t, you wouldn’t see hydration tracking apps on phones. And this seems to be done especially well, as it tracks temperature and humidity (which can alter your water needs), and it probably also accounts for your rate of exercise (which would be great for someone beginning a exercise regimen for the first time).
I actually have one of these bottles. I like it. I'm terrible at drinking water. I'm never consistent. My doctor mentioned that I should drink more water due to a medical condition. I bought one of those huge gallon bottles and tried to use that but the problem was I just wouldn't pick the thing up. This reminding me daily has got me into the habit of being more consistent throughout the day.
After having the bottle I discovered exactly how much I should be drinking, and I was nowhere near where I needed to be. I'd be willing to bet many of the folks on here making jokes don't either. I should note it updates based on the weather conditions as well.
Also, I'm using this instead of plastic bottles which I'm happy I'm not using anymore. It's really helped me to make it much more of a habit.
Reading the comments here it's making me feel like I'm crazy, but to each his own I guess.
