Apple Now Suing Samsung over Tablet and Phone Case Designs [Updated]

What anger ? Is simply pointing out this story is flame bait considering no one reads the article anger now ?
Maybe you're the one who's angry someone is pointing out the obvious ?
How much would you pay for an Apple TV?
I somehow think Apple TV won't be as successful. Apple got big when ipods got popular. iPod is relatively cheap like a few hundred. And people have to keep buying them every year due to wears/new designs. And they don't think about it too much as it's not like it costs $1000.
There's another line of Apple products that never got popular. Remember Xserve? Xraid? They cost a few grand and people can't replace them every 1-2 years. Xraid was a failed product imo as Apple just stopped competing in that area.
So how much would an Apple TV have to cost so that people can buy a new one every 1 - 3 years? And remember, it's the repeat buyers that's keeping Apple profit up.

Can't we just admit that everyone rips off everyone, especially in the look/feel department? I worked for Pioneer a few years back, and we were the first to come out with the glossy black bezel. Very quickly, everyone started copying it. But we didn't sue! The same is true for so many electronics, cars, furniture, clothes, and anything else that comes in and out of style.
Apple needs to grow up! Stop suing everyone for stupid stuff. Stop tying up the courts with frivolous lawsuits. I am getting real tired of this behavior and soon enough, I am going to move away from Apple just so I don't feel like I am anymore part of the problem.

Apple acting like an angry little kid with with most annoying tantrum ever in the history of electronic industry.
It just needs a grown up (Samsung) to spank its ass to calm it down and set it straight...
My favorites are Apple:
- Warning a little German cafe ("Apple Child") to change their logo.
- Filing to stop NYC (aka "The Big Apple") from trademarking their Green initiative logo.
There's probably a special place in hell reserved for Apple's logo lawyers.

No. Let's not get carried away. The Anymode case was thrown in there by the Macrumors staff, in a bid I guess to confuse the audience and generate click (click bait).
There is no lawsuit. Apple has served notice to Samsung about some potential infringement related to phone and tablet cases, of which the specifics are unknown at this point.

I rather think you believe how apple products look like and don't personally own one. Maybe from far they'll look alike but from up close they are different, u can tell them apart.
If you own one what's the point of walking to a display to check out something that's in your pocket or bag? And immediately realize if you do that is not an apple made product.

Guess I have to repost this because someone Does not Look at the facts. Apple designed the parts and went to Samsung to PRODUCE them. Its not like apple just shopped around for spare parts to use. Give me a break. Now your gonna tell me that samsung designed the A5 chip? The same could be said about your comment. If samsung supposedly designed all the parts then why were they 2 years late to the tablet party and still can't come up with a design of there own? I owned a Samsung Vibrant which is where this all started. The phone was almost a exact replica of the iPhone...All the way down to the chrome trim. Samsung has been making phones longer than Apple and have Many phones that DONT look like the iPhone. They went out of there way to make a iPhone Clone with the samsung Vibrant. And to the completely Clueless person that said IOS is outdated and that Apple is DESPERATE...WTF are you getting your info? Samsung News? The iPad is outselling android 10-1. Not to mention still owning 65% of the market 2 years later. This is 65% from 1 company. the other 35% is split between 20 or 30 android tablet makers. Read em' and weep.....

Apple needs to stop with the patent trolling. If I were an Apple employee I would be ****ing embarrassed.
BTW. There was a hearing yesterday in Samsung's appeal to the Duesseldorf court order (Galaxy ban in the EU) and Apple is now losing this case too.
The judge made a lot of fun with quoting from Apple's request ("rectangular", "round corners", "ultra thin", "color(!) icons when switched on"). Apple's lawyers weren't so happy, the final decision will be made in the beginning of January.

That very well maybe true but it's still lazy. The designers of these cases took the shortest route to market by "borrowing" the market leaders design and neither improving or adding anything to it.
